Nursing assessment test

Published

Hello,

I'm a nurse in Rehab, but wanted to try hospital job. I'm applying for a job in IMC and spoke to a nursing recruiter. She scheduled me for a Nursing Assessment Test. Can somebody advice/help me to give me some idea about this? pointers to study? Thank you in advance

Don't know what IMC is. Is that a medical center/acute hospital? I would guess that a "nursing assessment test" would test your knowledge of nursing at your level (RN? LPN?), probably assessments, meds, med math, labs, emergency procedures, delegation/roles, and the like. In brief, if you have been working as a nurse, things you should probably already know. Be honest with them and do yourself a favor and take it cold, without prior study.

Specializes in critical care, ER,ICU, CVSURG, CCU.

Not meaning to sound rude,

but either I know it or I dont

i have taken several they were in the line of

mgr described a situation, and would ask what would you do etc.

some even had some basic pharmacology questions

usually most were the clinical scenario, and what would I do sorta question

fo instance, Frequently after a cabg surgery esp if right coronary artery was bypassed, pt develops supra ventricular tachycardia rhythm.....what would you do, if there were protocols I would follow them, as in cordone drip and bonus, contacting a provider etc, assessments, and monitoring type of thing.

bestwishes, I hope I helped a little

its just a little critical thinking exercise

keep us posted

Thank you for the reply. IMC- Intermediate care, I believe it's a stepdown unit if not mistaken. ok, gonna start reading then! :)

I took the test, it looks like a personality test. the choices are: very effective, effective, somewhat effective, ineffective, very ineffective. Luckily I passed the test. Thank you for all the help
