Nurses Recovery

Published

Hi anyone had a probation violation...I am on probation for 3 years for a DUI before I even came a nurse . 6 years ago. Jus got my license and started probation 3 months in. I drank at a get together and got tested the next day for PETH..alcohol. My probation monitor got back to me with a letter intent to cease practice wanted me to write her a letter explaining. Which I did. But I heard from others there going to cease and send it to th AG. Anyone know what happens than... Do U think thy will cease practice and take me to trail...Or extend my probation...

If had any doubts about how money and the connection to the rehab industry (I don't) may have perverted a once good idea of helping Nurses in need they were cured last week. Last week in my asinine nurses "support group" once of the other evil Nurses sentenced to this hell found out that another vendor in the rehab industry routinely discharges Nurses from the support group requirement after 6 months - 1 year. She asked the therapist why they could be released in as soon as six months and all of us (no matter what) got at least a two year ride. Essentially the therapist said that her company was allowed to keep us for two years so all of us got that. Is this anything but a money grab? Where is the determination if this treatment is actually doing any good for the patients as individuals if it has been determined that everybody stays for the max before the patient is ever met or needs assessed? I wish they would just tell me how much money I need to pay them so I don't have to go back. It's a shakedown pure and simple backed by the BON

I don't know if this charade is specifically and intentionally backed by the BONs or if the BONs are at fault by turfing the management of any "alternative to discipline" program off to "nonprofit". ( yeah, right) companies that enjoy that cozy relationship with "approved" evaluators and treatment facilities and testing set ups.

This experience has done nothing for my mental health and I would say has occasionally made things more of a challenge.

Someone elsewhere on this forum said she felt like a core measures checklist. That'd about describe it. They just check all the boxes, including the one that says "positive $$$ sign"

I haven't even read the comments but are you serious??? You're on probation, drank, went to drug test and wonder what will happen? If you were in Texas, you would have your license suspender and require inpatient treatment.

When did you find out you failed your test? How Long did it take for her to notify you that you failed after you took the test?

I'm wondering if you got your license back?

I'm very confused as to why people and/or are upset over the board taking action when you drank.
