It can be done!

Nurses Recovery

Published

All of y'all can do this, I finished 1 year ago, I now have my life back. Actually just got back from my first vacation in 7 years. Believe in yourself, trust yourself, be your own best friend! My words today are purely for encouragement. It took a long time, but I did it, so can you! Peace

Love! Love! Love! Your encouragement!!! Thank you so much!!!

Congrats to you!!!!

126 days left ,I finally feel like there is any end to this.

76 days until graduation here 😁😁

569 days and 7 hours left to go...

I am always encouraged to hear people completing their programs!

Congrats, hope your vacation was awesome! I've got 7 1/2 months to go on a 5 year contract, and I can't believe it's almost over! I totally agree--this can be done: it's annoying and humiliating and frustrating and expensive, but it isn't impossible and if I can do it I know everyone else can too! To all my fellow monitoring subjects--hang in there, it really will be over someday!

what a great feeling!!!!!! I have until October and then my license is free and clear!!!!!!!!

Just signed my contract for 2 years recently. Your comments are encouraging, but at this moment everything seems overwhelming. At this time I am upset and angry, mostly at myself, but I feel a bit railroaded. I had a previous DUI conviction before I even knew I wanted to become a nurse. The DUI is actually what saved me and made want to turn my life around, and now its become what defines me. I graduated 2 years ago, but have yet to practice one day of nursing.

They should tell you before you commit yourself to a nursing program that if you had any previous arrests or convictions that nursing has to be the thing you most wanted in your entire life. And yes it is achievable, but you have to be willing to invest a lot of time and money.

ok-lpn13 - You have a lot of company on this site that share your feelings (upset, angry, overwhemd) at all the BS you have to do. It is a huge investment of time and money. I too was in for having 2 DWI's. I stayed with the program, stayed off their radar, (out of trouble) paid the $$, did the UA's, sent in the paperwork logged in every day. Thought it would never end. But it did! It can for you too! Believe in yourself. I got my life back, So can you! Peace

Words of encouragement are awesome!!!! I'm glad you continue to be part of this forum even though your time is up! this forum is helpful in so many ways! Way to go everyone!

How is it a month in to freedom? Do you feel like you are forgetting to do something everyday?

What I'm most curious about is do you feel different about yourself? I feel pretty good about myself, and where I am in the world- but every day I have a reminder of my past.

Thanks for checking back in
