Checking in

Hi friends.. just checking in.. no word from the BON yet. Hard to believe it's been 2 years since I spoke with an investigator. It does feel good to be 2 1/2 yrs sober though . I like my dialysis job - I just had to get used to clocking in at 530 am! Lol. Hope all of you are doing well.

Gives me the mental picture that your file got stuck to the bottom of a rusty desk drawer in someone's office somewhere. Or else it got lost and no one at the BON wants to admit that.....

As much as I am convinced that a tiny part of the BONs justification for existience is to make people like us squirm, I think it really is that we mean about as much to them as the greasy pizza box I just took out to the trash.

If (hopefully not when) the time comes that you have to defend your sobriety, you will be able to face an evaluator with some ethics who will acknowledge the work you've put in the last several years and deem that sufficient evidence that you need not prove to some faceless ‘program' what you've been able to successfully do on your own.

I sure hope so Cats.. after 2 yrs I don't think l need some sucky monitoring program ..

Hi Tiff!!!

I pray that you don't get sucked into this nonsense. I would think at some point this issue would start to fade with the BON but what the heck do I know. When is your license due for renewal? That seems to be when some people get sucked into monitoring hell here in Pennsylvania. Good Luck!!!

I have 12 years, 11 months (13 years on 02/18/2005), and I have been waiting on the board, for re-issuance since July. I thought I had been waiting a long time, but, 2 years, I would go crazy.

Congratulations on your sobriety. 2 years is a great accomplishment!

I renewed my license in 2016 and I did answer the questions truthfully - like I've been to rehab, etc. it's up this year by Dec so we will see... thank you!

Keep it up and you are doing well. We all struggle with things and pat yourself on the back for this. You can do this and whatever works for you, keep it up! You are a good role model for being able to this, as I can't imagine how hard it is for you at times.

Thank you "Qing". I almost called the BON today from my work place and was thinking about pretending to be my case manager and ask if my case had been reviewed but I didn't. Now I'm glad I didn't. I don't want to give them any reminders! LOL!

My case took so long I called the investigator after about 15 months and asked her to expedite it. I was renewing my malpractice and didn't want to answer yes when asked if I was under investigation. She got on it so I didn't have to answer yes. My outcome was to stay in the confidential monitoring program. I was lucky! No public hanging!
