Hello! I was just wondering if anyone has received help from Nurses House? I recently submitted a request for financial help as I have been injured and out of work for almost a year and we are just about to lose everything. I wrote them my story in hopes that they can help me just a little so that we don't lose our belongings and get kicked out of our rental home. I was referred to them by someone on here and I was so grateful to have found a place that helps nurses. But now I am concerned as to if they are going to be able to help. If you have been helped by them or know of anyone that has been helped by them, could you reply to me? Thanks so much!

I hope they are able to help you as soon as possible. There is some info here about how much they are trying to do with their limited resources this year. See: https://allnurses.com/t51529.html
Nurses House National Fund for RNs in Need depends on donations to provide the help you need. There is a Nurses Winter Festival & ski trip taking place at Hunter Mtn in NY on February 26 to raise funds for Nurses House so they can help more of the nurses who are requesting it.
Nurses house has also issued a call to all RNs in the nation to each donate just ONE tax deductible dollar to the fund.
At work, we take up unit collections periodically and/or pass the hat around at our RN union meetings for donations to send to Nurses House.
I was out on disability myself for 5 months this year. Luckily I didnt need the fund's assistance but I can appreciate how it must be to be in that position, so instead of the one dollar they asked for, I sent them $25.
I hope every RN here can see their way clear to support this very worthwhile fund. Its the very least we can do for each other.
Good luck to you.

I checked that site out and I seen where they are reviewing about 15 of the most needed requests with 45 more waiting. I would assume I am one of those 45. I am not sure being out of work for 8 months and just having surgery etc qualifies me for any kind of help at this point. I am just to the point of deep depression. I have never been able to save money because for years I was a single mom with my 3 kids and they took everything I had plus more just to keep them clothed and fed. I never thought I would not be able to find a job after losing my last one for no reason. But just recently I have found out that an ex-employer has been black balling me in the State of Missouri. I can't do anything about it because I don't have the money to hire an attorney and then no one wants to take on the State. A hopeless case at this point. I am just going to keep praying that the Lord brings us the financial assistance that we so desperately need so that we can get back up on our feet and move on in our lives. Thanks for the post. They helped me back in 2002, saved me from being evicted after I was off work unexpectedly for five months. WONDERFUL folks there, I don't know what I would have done without them.
