2016 Nurse Residency Programs

Hey I haven't seen a new post on this topic so I figured I'd start one. Just submitted my application for UCHealth today and am hoping for CPCU or Pulmonary. I also submitted to Children's Hospital Colorado. I've been reading past years threads about residency stuff and it seemed nice to have others that are going through the same thing.

Congrats on your interview in Austin! Did you hear back from children's via email or phone? A friend of mine said she received a call yesterday from CHC but they didn't leave her a voicemail and she has to call back to find out they wanted to interview her. It all seems a little confusing to me. I still haven't heard anything from them which I'm assuming is not a good sign at this point :( Thanks for your help!

I got an email saying no, a call is probably a good thing. Make sure to check your spam I had an interview with a hospital but it went to my spam folder and I didn't see it for over a week.

@smithrm4 so sorry to hear that!!! Did you notice any change in your status on the application portal before you received your letter? Strange that they sent out rejections before interview invitations. Good luck with UCH!! Crossing my fingers for you :)

Thank you!! I actually got an interview with UCH so I'm excited!! And there wasn't a change in the status on the application portal for Children's which was weird---I just had two emails that said that I was rejected for the residency at the Aurora location.

Congrats! What unit(s) are you interviewing for at UCH? For those of us that haven't heard from CHC yet, I spoke with a friend yesterday who said she contacted the recruiter about her status and they told her that if you haven't received an email yet it means you've made it through the first round of application review and they will contact you in the next week if the managers choose to interview you. She said they told her they received over 600 applications and the process is taking longer than expected. Anyways, hopefully it works out for the rest of us and good luck to everyone applying for new grad positions all over!

I got a call today for an interview! They left a message and I called back to accept. They gave me a specific unit, date and time in the end of June, and said I'd receive an email from them with instructions as well as an email from HR for references. Still no change in my online portal though - that thing is useless!! :p
