2016 Nurse Residency Programs

Hey I haven't seen a new post on this topic so I figured I'd start one. Just submitted my application for UCHealth today and am hoping for CPCU or Pulmonary. I also submitted to Children's Hospital Colorado. I've been reading past years threads about residency stuff and it seemed nice to have others that are going through the same thing.

Heard back from UCH yesterday, and got completely rejected! I was pretty surprised because I think I am a pretty competitive applicant, but am from out of state. Not even an interview. It makes me think maybe they had a very small pool of new grads, or that they took mostly from the students who are already there doing clinicals, etc. Any thoughts? We should be hearing from CHCO by tomorrow supposedly, anyone hear anything or have any update on their application?? Mine still says "submitted" and I don't know what to make of that!

I fear that CHCO isn't going to let us know by Friday. I looked at an old post and it looks like they went over their date by a week or so. My point is try not to stress too much if we don't hear anything this week, it may not mean anything. But I do wish they would tell us if that's the case. They should know we are all biting at the bit haha :)

I'm sorry that it didn't work out with UCH, but don't give up hope!! I'm an out of state applicant too and I've heard that a lot of people have applied for residency programs and that it can be difficult to get a job in Colorado. Idk if this helps, but I saw that Centura Health just opened up a lot of residency programs when I looked yesterday if maybe you want to check that out too! It just helps me to apply to other programs so I can stop obsessing about these two!! Good luck though!!

Did UCH email you or call you regarding your application?? I haven't heard anything from UCH or children's yet and I'm getting anxious!!

Someone I know got a rejection email and another person got an interview via email for UCH. I think they are doing it all online. Good luck everyone!

I got an email for UChealth that she's scheduling interviews. She said she has 183 of us being interviewed.
