CES report- insufficient number of hours in nsg. theories

Hi everyone,

I graduated from Philippines and filed for nclex examination at Vermont it requires CES report. My CES report was insufficient number of hour.. yes HOUR! 1 hour only. The vermont BON told me that in my transcript it is okay but the CES report, said I have lacking 1 hour in pediatric nursing. And they told me that they r just waiting for the CGFNS to re-evaluate it, It takes so long so I could CGFNS accdg. to them what they got from my school transcript is fixed they have nothing to do with it. And suggest me to file for re-evaluation and it cost me like $200 again not to mention the process for my school docs fee/ mailing fee etc... anyone here with same situation as mine? what did u do? thanks

I am curious to know what happened with you. I am in a similar situation, but i need 10hrs in theoretical maternal/infant nursing. Please let me know how things worked out for you.

Good luck with all that. CGFNS are pretty incompetent as far as getting things done in a timely manner in my experience. It took them almost 2 years to get my paperwork completed. And this is with the fact that I am from Canada, a country that has very similar education to that received in the US.

The only thing I would recommend is to get the name and extension and email of the person handling your file. Contact them, be on their butt, several times a week if needed. Ask them what you can do to move the process along quicker. When I applied pressure, I managed to get my documents completed much quicker (they said once everything was in it would take 6-8 weeks. I harassed, they got it done in like a week and a half without having to pay the 500$ for expedited application).

That being said, if the error was your fault from having incorrect information submitted, then I think you just might have to suck up the loss and re-submit the application for CES. It will probably be quicker to get done since most of it has been done already, but you probably don't have a choice to pay again. Sorry to say. They are just completely money hungry and that is the reality.
