Hello everyone,
I am planning to take nurse refresher course at Washington state university.I have been not practicing
nursing for about 8 years and I have less than 2 years of experience after graduation.
Would you please share your thought about this program. Also, I am wondering if any international
nurse got her license in Washington state.I would like to learn about your registration experience.
Kind regards,
RZ

You may want to contact the WA BON by phone or e-mail to ask them directly as there may not be many members here that can related to a 8 year delay of practiced nursing.
Some states require the re-take of at least a 2 year nursing program after so many years after they got their nursing degree, so again not sure of WA BON's requirements.
Report back of your findings for the benefit of others that may come across the same situation in the future.

IF they are like the the Texas Board of Nursing it would be a waste of time. They have some fantasy thing made up in their head about Foreign Educated Nurse Refresher Course. What a Joke

It's quite common for nurses who have been out of practice for an extended period of time to be required to take a refresher course.
The same rules applies to any and all US educated grad or nurse, except I think for them it's 80 hours versus the 120 hours. Just one week worth's of extra time for IEN's, if it's a 8 hours per day (5) situation.
No one is exempted from this requirement if they have passed a certain time limit.
The joke is trying to find somewhere who teaches it for International.
Not too hard to find for US educated, and as usual the Texas BON is unclear where to find this class, It took me 6 hours pounding the web to find a couple of places, Price is about 2000 USD, What a joke
