What does everyone have in their Nurse Go Bag? Just had an incident and realized mine is packed more for orthopedic/bleeding issues than anything else. This is my first year as a school nurse and none of the people in this position prior to me had a bag, so I am kind of figuring this out as I go. I hate feeling unprepared and I totally just did because I had no idea what I was walking into. Any seasoned School Nurses have some insight for a newbie?
I have two - one is my more basic first aid kit for certain calls. Bandages/Bandaids variety (including gauze and non adherent dressings), saline rinse, alcohol wipes and spray, ice packs, tourniquet, disposable tweezers, gloves, biohazard bags, aces bandages, coban wrap, tampon/pad (great for nosebleeds or open wound in a pinch), flexible splint, penlight.
I throw my BP cuff, O2 monitor, stethoscope in when I get a call depending. It is all in a very large plastic shower caddy.
The other is my mobile trauma kit for a possible heavy hitter:

Not cheap! I had the blessing of a decent budget and bought this at the end of the school year when I had a surplus. You can stock the supplies as needed.

Are they individually packaged? No description on School Health.
