There is a shift that is popular around my neck of the woods. It's a 3-2-2 shift. You work 3 twelve hour days, have 2 off, work 2, off 3. You get every other weekend off if it's set up right and have 84 hours every two weeks (plus OT of course.)

Yea i want to work 7 hours per week. Just for like 6 years though. Unless its illegal. As long as i get my full sleep.

I think you mean 7 "days" a week?

Most likely, you'd have to have two jobs. Most employers are not going to allow you to work that much because of overtime. In the US (are you from the US?) anything over 40 hours a week or 80 hours in two weeks is considered overtime and if you are non-exempt, you must be paid extra for it...usually time and a half. Most shifts are either 8 hours or 12 hours.

Also, nurses are not allowed to work more than 16 hours in any 24 hour period. It is considered unsafe to work more than that.

So find yourself two jobs and good luck.

It used to be that you'd work five eight hour shifts a week to get forty hours. Then there was working three twelve hour shifts to get thirty six hours and get paid for forty (cuts down on shift changes only one per twenty four hour period versus two with the three eights). Now a days working two twelve hour shifts and then two eight hour shifts seems to be the norm. At least that is the case in this area.

If you worked 12s you could work 6 days in a row: Thursday. Friday. Saturday. Sunday. Mon. Tuesday. Then have 8 days off.

One job I didn't take was offering 7 days of 12 hr shifts, then 7 days off. Some overtime junkies would work most of their week off, too. Usually 40 hours a week is normal full time - using 8, 19 or 12 hour shifts.

we do that on nights, but we are a tertiary unit and usually we are fairly settled from 0000- 0200 and 0200- 0600 so it;s tolerable if you can sleep in the day , i find 3 12 hour days hard work and the 4th would be a killer ... i suppose hysteria would kick in forthe 5th 6th and 7th

It's possible. I work Monday Tuesday an Wednesday 12 hour shifts 6p-6a for a total of 36 hours then I work thurs- sunday 8 hour shifts from 3-11. For a total of 32 hours making my 7 day total 68 hours. I am only doing this for 9 months, however, to pay some bills off and build up our savings.

I have family time with wife and kids mon - we'd from 1p-5p and thur-sun from 8a-2p. Wife works mon-wed 6p-6a so she does all the bills and grocery shopping on thurs and friday
