Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program USAF

Hello, I am in the Air Force. I recently applied to the 2010 Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Progam (NECP). I am waiting for the board results. Anyone else out there as anxious as me?

well, I'll introduce my husband, since he is the one applying... he's a SSgt, been in 5 years and he works as a physical therapy technician at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. He will be attending University of Alaska, Anchorage in the Fall 2010 (hopefully).

As for me, I'm currently a nursing student at the same university, just started my second semester and I absolutely love it :-)

I think I'm more anxious than my husband in finding out the board results ASAP and sort of an eager beaver to find out just any information I can, because there isn't much out there.

Yes, Mr B at AFPC told me that if you have a line number, you get to keep it!!! That's awesome, huh? Good luck and thanks for your post!

I think this is really stressful for me because by the time we find out it will be June. I will have to move to TX too!!! With about 8 weeks notice....ARgh!

I thought it was going to be stressful just trying to get outprocessed from the base and finish up a few things before August when school starts........I couldn't imagine having to move/PCS + everything else.....

Thank god my husband is awesome and will help me with a lot of this, plus since he has been through nursing school he can also understand! He was telling me that the BSN is the most stressfull bachelors program... (some news report or something) weird!

You are right I stand corrected:smokin::cheers:

Faye27-You seem to have the info that all of us want. Thanks alot for sharing with all of us. Your post really reassures me and makes me feel better about the whole thing. I will tell everyone right now, I sent my completed application (priority/signature service) late march and got confirmation. I am not one of the late ones.....I agree with everyone else....those who got their packages in on time should have priority.

I'm actually participating in a program through the Department of Veterans Affairs, which is where I work. It's basically the same set-up as NECP/AECP, get paid my salary while going to school, plus they cover all tuition and expenses. I will owe 3 years, but it sure beats student loans! I was planning on staying with the VA anyway. The application process was not even close to being as stressful as NECP or any Air Force program though ?

That's awesome that your husband has finished, I can't wait to be done... 4 more semesters!

Faye, WOW! thats a great program! Congrats!jkdcgill03, I got my package in mid April. Let's hope AFPC treats us fairly!2012rn2b... I think you shoudl share your info about the program there in Missouri... the garenteed slots. I know I have a lot of people here asking me about how to find a school. I didnt know something like that existed, and I am sure that next year, people will read through this thread looking for answers...
