I just submitted my application to the Nurse Corps Scholarship, I just found out about this a few months ago anyone have any advice or tips? I am most worried by my SAI number. It is within the range but its on the upper end more than lower.

Hi Guys! Mine also says "submitted" however I just called a rep and she confirmed with me that my application is actually "under review" and the status should shortly reflect that as well. I would recommend giving them a call and have your application ID ready! She also said that we should all know the decision NO LATER than September 30th regardless of accepted or not (she weirdly stressed the date LOL). Good luck to everyone!!

I meannnn I think it's still worth it. This stipend is taxable just like a pay check at work. Also, your school should be understanding. My school would never drop me or make me get a loan just because my payment is late... maybe a financial hold but if the money is coming for sure, and they know I don't see why they would require you to get a loan to continue... thats a horrible school if so.

so the only thing taxable is the stipend? not the total amount of money they are paying? on the fb group, they are saying it's all the money they give that's is taxed.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong... but the total amount they're paying our tuition with is not something we would have to worry about. Basically, they are paying for 2 years of tuition (in most cases) in exchange for 2 years at a critically shorted hospital or facility (which most people end up at anyways).
The only keeping we need to do over the 2 years is with the stipend, taxes may or may not be automatically deducted from the direct deposit. If not, then that may be why people had to pay thousands back. Because, if you were just getting the payments and forget about paying the tax (setting aside the proper funds to pay), when you go to do your taxes during tax season you will owe and may not have the money to cover the balance.
I don't know much about taxes yet, but this is what I surmise is happening 😅
I think you have to weigh it out... there are pros/cons but the other con would be having to get all loans for nursing school (with interest rates) and then your first few years of working you'll have to worry about paying off debt instead of being able to attain your financial goals from the jump.
I think you should keep your application submitted, and think about it longer.

Also,
If you don't fulfill the 2 year obligation you would have to pay back the amount they covered + interest.
I'm not sure if that's what they're talking about.

Not I 😅!! I think we're a bit early tho. From what I hear all the action happens late August to September. I wish I could time travel ughhhh 😂

I took your advice and called but the rep said that mine still says submitted. She told me there was no other update on my application. I'm starting to feel discouraged.
