2024 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Updated:   Published

I just submitted my application to the Nurse Corps Scholarship, I just found out about this a few months ago anyone have any advice or tips? I am most worried by my SAI number. It is within the range but its on the upper end more than lower.

Apply to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program

You are eligible if you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
  • Are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing
  • Begin classes no later than September 30
  • Don't have any federal judgment liens
  • Don't have an existing service commitment
  • Aren't overdue on a federal debt

Note: Preference to those who need the most help financially.

Why should you apply?

If you receive an award, you'll get a monthly stipend—and they'll pay your

  • tuition;
  • eligible fees;
  • reasonable costs (includes books, clinical supplies/instruments, and uniforms).

I am still waiting for my school to return the EVF back to me to accept mine.  I hope I get it back by the end of the day.  Congratulations!

Thank you! You too!

So far it seems like people who have received COI's have an SAI of -1500 so maybe it's going by that and will happen in waves of higher SAI's

Has Anybody with a SAI higher than -1500 received a COI

I did see during the application process that people with the highest financial need have priority, so it could be true.

I have an SAI of -1500 and haven't received a COI. Hope this helps

Mine was not in the negatives.

how many waves do you think there are? It's been a few weeks with this first wave, so I wonder how long it'll take for this next wave... and if there'll be more than 1?

The timeline for this process is uncertain and may extend into the next week or the week after, depending on the number of rejections.

There are many considerations beyond just the SAI. For example, I am graduating this December, which means I can start my position in January. This could be advantageous for HRSA since I would be able to start serving in less than six months. However, I could be mistaken.

I received a status update on August 7, my credit was pulled on August 19, and I received the COI last week Wednesday at 3:39 PM.

Do you mind sharing your SAI?

My SAI was -1500, I have 4 semesters left & have yet to receive a credit check.

Specializes in Student nurse.

Someone please answer if bankruptcy disqualifies you. I don't want to get my hopes up at all. I did receive a credit check and everything else on my credit report is amazing. and never missed a payment which shows on the report on the 2 credit cards closed from 2022 , but I feel like this would disqualify me and I just want to rip the band aid off now.
