Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Don't get excited about a credit check. This is my third year applying and I've received a credit check each year and no offer.

So i just applied for the NCSP for this coming year and there are a couple of things I can tell you. First, the application process is VERY arduous. If you have one t not crossed, or one I not dotted, they will disqualify your application. Im sure it is their way of weeding out applications. Things like, everything you submit MUST be in a PDF format and you MUST put your name, last 4 of your social, application and speciality on every document. re recommendations, they tell you what type of recommendations they want. A professional one and an academic one is what they wanted for mine (Im in an NP program). I hope this helps

So I just spoke with someone at HRSA to figure out when people would start being notified. He said that they've already started notifying people.

What bureau do they use for the credit pull?

I will say that even though he said that, I'm not entirely sure I believe him. After he said people were already being notified, he said that this is usually the time they start to because it's July. I think if someone else were to call, they'd get a different answer. I'm hoping and praying that it isn't the case and that we'll be all be apart of the first round of notifications.
