Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Published

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

I submitted my application on the day before the deadline.

ok, i submitted mine 05/31, two weeks before the deadline. hopefully they are doing in random order.

Update: I did receive a credit check today, 8/21, from Credco. It was only on Equifax.

Did you apply for RN or BSN?

I orignally submitted it 5/20ish and then resubmitted it on the day of the deadline.

Also, I did receive a credit check from Credco, it was marked for today.

Is anyone aware of someone EFC being a little greater than $7,000 getting awarded for Nurse Corp?

I think the cutoff is like $5300-5400ish.

Looks like maybe they are only running credit checks on people who accept the award. Saves them money, I assume.

Not necessarily. I haven't accepted the award yet (I will though). It was run a day after I got the email.

Maybe then after offering it... either way, congrats!
