Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.
My heart is breaking. I read the guide thoroughly so many times. The instructions online said to put the applicant ID, so that is what I did. I am disappointed and frustrated with myself that I missed this somehow, and so sad about all of my hard work and the hard work of others on my behalf gone because did not do both. I truly spent a great deal of time making sure I followed every instruction and am not sure how I failed at the time. I am very detail-oriented.
I did the same thing. I read through the guidelines several times but I missed that part. I'm staying positive because I wholeheartedly believe that this one little mistake isn't going to disqualify us. I think it's a pretty common mistake. Don't beat yourself up or start thinking negatively or else you'll get a negative outcome. I'm still praying and believing for all of us. I know that our applications are strong enough with this little mishap!!
So a woman I just spoke with on the phone said that the lack of information at the top of those documents does NOT necessarily mean you will be disqualified. Just that it helps them organize the paperwork. The ID number was supposed to be at the top of the essays because a different group of people review the essays from the other supporting documents, so they do not want to know who they are looking at, just the content. She also said we will be hearing from now until September 30th. She did not seem concerned that I forgot to put that information at the top of the paperwork. With that being said, if anyone wants to call again to confirm or see if they get different information, that would be greatly appreciated. I would feel much better knowing more than 1 person agrees.
Hope this helps!
I called too. The gentleman said the opposite to me. I asked about getting conflicting information. He apologized and said he was sorry for the confusion but that that is something they usually disqualify someone for. Still, the fact that you got different information does leave room for hope. The person I spoke to said someone would email me back.
I also asked him about the essays saying applicant ID and the guidebook saying social security number and discipline. He said the essays should have both and we should have followed both instructions and combined them. Which didn't seem to make sense. So I am going to believe that having the information there is enough and that the strength of our application matters! Thanks for letting me vent!
So obviously I called too because why not. The women I spoke to said it's not automatic disqualification but it's a possibility.
I really wish they would have a meeting and solidify everything so that the information given to us is consistent. Regardless, I'm confident that this won't be a disqualification for us.
I had called about this previously, the person I spoke with said it has both in the handbook. Applicant id for essays and then ssn for everything else. He said it is up to the ppl reviewing to see whether it will be disqualified. I explained that on the portal, while completing the app it said name and applicant id, so I deleted everything and changed it to that. He said if it clearly said that and I was following instructions, I should be fine.

At least you put info on the top. I'm hoping I can change it if they haven't started reviewing them yet. Who knows. I'll email them now. Best of luck to everyone.
Maybe if we get enough people to call they will realize the ridiculousness of these requirements. The application is already an overload of information. I spent weeks filling it out, to not even have a chance is mindblowing. Applying to college was wayyy easier.
So true! The only documents that I uploaded that didn't have any identifying information about me was my cost of attendance. I uploaded a scan of my passport, which is a official document issued by the US government, the verification form and authorization form required us to have our name and last 4 of our social, the SAR report is directly from Fafsa. Honestly, it's such a ridiculous requirement when literally every document we uploaded has our name. I worked in an admissions department for a law school and the applicants didn't have to do all this because the reviewers viewed the applications electronically and everything was found in the app's folder and if they ever had to print anything out, the system they used put the app ID on every page.
also, I doubt they're printing out each application and doing a paper review.

I did the exact same thing. Well, good thoughts to you all!
