Hi everyone,

I am interested in applying to the nurse corps scholarship 2017 2018 in order to pay for my accelerated program of sixteen months. I have a bachelors in sociology. I have done quiet a few researches. The application cycle will be open this month but I don't know which exact date. I have read discussion threads of previous years and have found really helpful information. I want to create a platform where interested applicants can ask questions, share information, discuss and help each other.

ZfutureRN i submitted my application the last week of April i believe. It just popped up on my Credit Karma that I had an inquiry. When i was reading through earlier threads in 2016 I saw a few people mention the credit inquiry. I may be mistaken......when i check online my application says under review

Steph4073 that is what I read too that when you get a credit check you are likely to get it. You could log into your credit karma and see if it is a hard inquiry...I submitted mine on Thr last day! Hope we getí ¾í´ží ¼í¿½í ¾í´ží ¼í¿½

ZfutureRN yes it says hard inquiry? Is that a good sign? I hope it works out for any of us!!! God knows we can all use any help we can get

Yes! But when you click on the hard inquiry it should also tell you who made the inquiry. I just checked my credit karma and was so happy to see hard inquiry and it was just salie Mae:( you are right we need this! If you don't mind sharing can you tell me your EFC score and GPA and experience with the underserved community

ZfutureRN right now I'm in my second year of Nursing School my GPA is 3.4 accumulative and 3.5 for the last semester. I live in an underserved community. It's rural and poor most of the servicing I did was really with special needs children and the elderly in the community. Free events promoting health screenings, immunizations and other free services our community offers. I moved to this area for the program so I only have about 2 years of volunteer work in. I know a lot of people have said they aren't really focused on GPA as much as the "need" my EFC is 0000000 (lol) Alot of people have applied so I don't want to get to stuck on this one scholarship. But even if I don't get it I know that means it was meant for someone else to pursue something great so I'm ok with that :))

I had a Credco/quicken hard inquiry on 6/13/17 (4 days ago) on my Equifax score. Maybe too soon or a random mortgage person checking me out? Either way!

Does anyone know when anyone will be notified or an estimated date? I saw something on my credit I think someone mentioned before CreditCorp or something like that just making an inquiry - I know some say this does not really mean anything I am probably just makin myself a little crazy waiting

I would think it would be too soon for credit inquiries. Looking at the past threads most started noticing inquiries in July. You can't think of any other reason why you would have an inquiry? I'm not saying it's impossible, I just believe it's too soon. The past threads also stated to look for "CREDCO" as the inquiry. My Credit Karma does not update for another week and my application still states "under review." Please keep us updated. Fingers crossed.

Steph4073 thank you, I am also like you, live in underserved community, have EFC score of 0000 and in second term of my BSN RN school and my nursing school

GPA is 4.0. Hope to hear some good news if not for me for others... hoping there were no budget cut to the program

Last year everyone's credit checks came from CREDCO and they were not don't until 7/15. The first round of notifications that I know on for scholarship offers was on 7/26. It's still really early.

For those that received the credit report, did you apply for the HRSA scholarship or the nurse corps?

Did you apply for NHSC as well as nurse corp? If not maybe they are doing credit checks early? Good luck!
