2021 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Starting this thread for those who applied for Nurse Corps loan repayment in 2021

Does anyone know if being in NCLRP interferes with the PSLF (public service loan forgiveness) in any way?  I'm hoping not!

From what I understand yes. You can’t have time counting toward this contract and pslf.

Do they pay your loan servicer directly?

No they don't. They deposit the funds in your account and you're responsible for paying your servicer(s).

Hi! As a NCLRP recipient, my gross income has been drastically affected. Because of this, it has placed me outside of the income cap for biden’s $10,000 loan forgiveness. If I wasn’t receiving the NCLRP I would qualify. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a way to delineate my normal gross income from the NCLRP? Any little bit helps, but I understand that I might not be able to get my cake and eat it too.

Did you just start receiving NCLRP?

No I’m in my third and final year so the past two year tax forms reflect that.

Oh boy. I think if it were your first year, maybe even second, you could've made it. I'm not sure ? I hope someone else weighs in

Thanks for replying! You pointed out a great point about length of award so I will move this to the 2019 NCLRP thread.

If anyone has received their NHSC LRP $50K funding, can you post what date you received it and how many days it was after your countersignature/contract date?

I am still waiting on funding, my countersignature/contract start date was 8/29.

Hi, for those that have been awarded HRSA Nurse Corps LRP do you work as a bedside nurse for your facility? I currently work bedside but am interested in internally transferring within my facility to a non bedside position and was wondering if that is still an eligible position to maintain participation in this program.  Thanks ?

Yes, I use it for a public health nurse position.
