2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

Nurse loan corp approval on 8/30/17. I'm a NP with a >200% DTR. I believe my facility is a score of 14. My last name starts with B. Third year applying, first time approval. Feeling very blessed.

Specializes in FNP: Urgent Care & Primary Care; RN: Med-Surg.

So it looks like no one heard anything yesterday and so far today?

Hey,

I saw a couple of CRNAs received the finalist email recently. I felt like I had a pretty good chance, but I haven't heard anything. I have had two situations that I feel may have affected my chances but I cannot get any answers from the customer service department clarifying whether or not I was disqualified or not. The first situation is my credit has been frozen so I was never able to determine whether or not I had a credit check because they were unable to check my credit. They emailed me and said they would email me if I was selected for review but they never did. The second situation is I had someone from HR through my employer (which is an anesthesia group) do the employment verification because the HR department at my hospital would not do it since they said I was not an employee. Did any other CRNAs receive a finalist email? Can any CRNAs let me know what you did about this situation with the employment verification? And does anyone have the same situation where their credit was frozen when the credit checks occurred? I just don't know if I was disqualified or not because they won't tell me. The status has always said under review. Thanks!

i work for university hospital so HR did it. I hounded them about it. credit not frozen. still on cloud 9. id ventured to say i have one the highest loan amounts in here. this is life changing.

Just wondering when u get the award...when does the contract start? Date it was countersigned? Date you got the notification? Date you get the welcome packet?

No awards today or yesterday?

Congrats TX CRNA!!!

Emmieecb, Oh really I wonder if that is the problem.. I just wish they would tell me. Was anything different when you previously applied?

That's great TX,CRNA. Yes I agree it would be very life changing. I have a very high debt to income ratio as well so I thought I would have a good chance. So I don't know if the employment verification disqualified me or not. Or maybe not being able access my credit had something to do with it.

Hey guys. Has anyone heard of a decrease in eligibility associated with filing taxes jointly with a spouse who has higher income? A coworker mentioned to me that the joint income rather than my individual income may be used to calculate the debt-to-income ratio, which would be really frustrating if correct.

That's not the case. They use the income your employer reports on the verification form. They have no way of knowing your spouse's income or that you file jointly without having a tax return/W2 and that information is not on your credit report.
