Anyone else starting this class on 4/8? I looked all through the boards, and only found one thread about this class and it was not helpful. I'm guessing we would need to shadow someone in management for this course.
Just another course I can't wait to be done with.
I know, I had to look twice at it. I think they just throw down numbers and say figure it out. Like finding the differences for the proposed changes, it says “Do not include info in question 2 but do compare the differences” Huh?? So I just added the new positions and subtracted the eliminated positions and totaled it up.

I thought the purpose was to have a positive or negative calculated total for each position that changed. I think we are essentially comparing the differences in the final portion of the assignment, right?
okay cool that is how I did it as well but it made the RN have a greater salary than the manager so I wasn't sure
I thought the same thing as you until I watched the video. They specifically address that a FT RN may only work 36 but the method of calculations are used to determine the cumulative number of hours they need filled by RNs so even though there are, lets just say 20 (so we don't give away answers) FTEs in the original equation that means they could be composed of 15 full time RNs and and 10 PT/on call that work an average of 0.5 FTEs each.
luna_rn,
You are right. The 1 FTE could be filled by more than one RN “body”. I realized that the manager’s salary (if you divide it by 2080 hours) is less than the RN’s hourly rate. And I calculated the +/- position by itself for each change then made the corrections on the final worksheet portion. I don’t know if that is right, but hopefully the end results are really what they will look at……
When I e:mail the AC with some type of question, the standard answer seems to be “do your best” (sigh).
So do you think that is correct? The only other thing I could think was to make the difference the added or subtracted number from the Q2 total....not sure
I think you leave the difference as a +/- total. You get the final numbers, with the adjustments made on the last budget sheet. My only rationale is that if you take your first budget total and add or subtract the difference total from question 4 (depending on if you got +/-), you should get the total for the final budget. Does that make sense?
I finally finished the finacial management assignment. that was so confusing. I hope I got the numbers right. I am trying to finish the change theory project today cuz I work this weekend. It is a lot of work too. I started some of the work on it last week but I didn't do much. I have to complete almost the whole thing today.
