Numerical Filing, Alphabet Filing and Terminal Digit Filing?

Can you check my work on Numerical Filing, Alphabet Filing and Terminal Digit Filing, and some word problems about filing?

I've done the best I could.

I freakin hate math and was lied to when I asked is math in HIM programs. It freaking is. I'm having to take statistics now for this program, and for me it takes many, many hours(sometimes days) just do a few problems.

I also was not expecting this particular class which is just basic HIM to have math in it too.

I am seriously contemplating finishing this semester, and then dropping this program altogether so I can then go on ahead and get my Masters in Libary Science and Records Management. At least I know Humanities programs don't have math in them. ?

If I got something wrong explain it to me in baby steps. Like I'm five. Seriously.

Word Problems:

Orchard Hill Hospital is a new facility that will treat 7500 patients over the next five years. Each patient record will average of 3.5 inches.

1.Calculate the number of filing inches needed to store these records (include the formula)

Answer=75,000 x 3.5= 26,250. How come when I first did it at first I got 262,500?

2.Calculate the number of 7 tier shelving units that would be needed. (include the formula) Shelves are 35 inches wide.

Answer= 7 x 35=245

3.Calculate the number of 6 tier shelving units that would be needed. (include the formula) Shelves are 33 inches wide.

Answer=33 x 6=198

4.If Orchard Hill Hospital expanded their facility to treat 15,000 patients and the records averaged 4.0 inches, how many filing inches would be needed to store there records? (include the formula)

Answer=15,000 x 4.0=60,000

5.You have 250,000 records in a terminal digit file and have determined that you want to file 50 records behind each file guide. Determine how many file guides are needed. (include the formula)

Answer:250,000 divided by 50 = 5,000

What information should be included in a computerized chart location system?

The keeping of a clinical record of the important facts about a patient and the progress of his or her illness. The patient's chart most often contains the history; laboratory reports; list of medications; results of physical examinations, consultations, and special diagnostic tests; treatments of the health care team; any problems; and the patient's response to interventions and treatment.

Reevaluate what this is asking.  Each unit can hold 245 inches of files (7 x 35). You need to file 26,250 inches of files. You would need 108 shelf units to do this. 26250 / 245 = 107.142). Don’t think you can order a fraction of a shelving unit ?

 so would you change your answer for question 3?

 You got 262,500 in question 1 when you used 15,000 instead of 1,500 in the calculation
