I've tried multiple times since November to pay online and over the phone and keep getting that the system is unavailable. Is this company up and running? Anyone else having trouble? I clicked a link directly from their email to me which showed a different billing page from the one on the site. I am very leery of mailing a check to them at this point.

I had trouble renewing as well. Finally got through to the company and spoke with a very apologetic person who said they have been in the process of revamping their entire phone and computer system. She was helpful, and I got my renewed policy in the mail a couple of days after speaking with her.
All I can say is keep trying. They do have a good reputation.
Thank you Miranda! I'll try to call later today when they open.

I'm up for renewal in March, so I'm glad you asked this question. I think they are a cheap unionized agency. I bet good lawyers feel lucky to work there, and so their cost of liability is probably low. The power of numbers.
I will definitely renew.

I just had to add Student insurance to my existing policy and had no problems getting through to speak to someone. I was on hold maybe 5 minutes.

I've used them for over 5 years with no problems. Even if I'm late renewing, they will backdate it so I have no lapse in coverage.
No, not at all. I've just never heard from anyone who has had to actually use their NSO insurance, and whether or not the company delivered under those circumstances. I thought maybe the poster did have knowledge of their service in a crisis.
I remember someone using them and said there were great. I'll see if I can find the post.

I have NSO as well. I've only used them for a year and haven't had to actually use any of their services. It would be nice to hear from folks who do have experience with this company and/or companies that offer comparable legal services for nurses.

Having tried for the last two days to renew my policy with NSO on line to no avail, I'm beginning to wonder if their website isn't maintained by a pack of trained chimpanzees. In fact, I'm having second thoughts about renewing with them at all...are they legit?...are they really selling Liability Insurance or just cranking out a phony website and phony insurance papers? Anyone can generate junk like that and scam the public.
