Who's on board for this class next session? Join up!

Specializes in L&D and OR.

Are you guys just answering the questions like:

1) blah blah blah

2) blah blah blah

3) blah blah blah

or answering them all in one paragraph?

I have decided to hand draw my genogram and scan it. I am too lazy to try and do it on Word. I would just end up frustrating myself trying to figure out the lines etc. It was hard enough doing statistics in Excel with charts and graphs.

Specializes in Correctional Nursing; MSN student.

I'm gonna go with 1) blah, blah, etc I think. I have little to say. I'm beginning to recall my grandparents are from France...or was it Spain???

Specializes in Critical Care, Pediatrics, & PACU.
So what would the key be if everyone is from the U.S.? Squares are dudes and circles are chics? That's all I got...

Example: Circles=Women, Squares=Men, Brown=Maternal Second Generation, etc.

My circles and squares were also color coded. There was also no mention of a key in our directions, but someone asked a question on the q&a board and the key came up as an answer. The assignment may have changed since I took the class, but points were taken off in my class for not having a key for the genogram.

LOL...

Still nothing from my TA - HATE that! Sooooo, no directions for anything in my section. Hopefully someone will get on the ball today and post something~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K. I just took the CCHPA test. ICK! Even thought I work in a very diverse hospital, being in the O.R. limits my exposure to these kinds of tasks and interactions. I pretty much do none of this!!! According to the test, I need a great deal of improvement in EVERYTHING :lol2: Gonna be a long 5 weeks........

I have a job in a culture that is not my own. I work in a public housing community, have been at this for 14 years and the CCHPA says I need to learn more about everything too.

Specializes in nursing.

So has anyone else noticed that the announcements have disappeared from the course??

Specializes in Psych/AOD.

Inimica you are definitely a brave one taking 5 classes at the same time. Are these all RN classes? If so I think that would be doable. Two classes the 1st 5 weeks and three classes the second five weeks. My summer quarter will consist of Stats, Art 110, and Microbiology at a local community college. No RN classes that quarter. I've heard that stats is difficult, but I'm hoping that my good math skills will help me get through that class.

Anyone test out of 310 in the past? How difficult was the test? I'm doing practice tests from the online supplement to the book and there seem to be a lot of anatomy questions, which I'm not great at. I'll keep studying for a couple more days and pray pray pray that I can test out!

I'm with you on this one EmJean - I attempted to use Word and not having the best of luck. Think hand-drawn and scanned in is the way to go for me. Now .... where is that ruler at ??? :D

My TA finally posted ... yeah! She said to use colors and shapes just like the website did. So ... will be adding a Key to the bottom of my page ... LOL. Let me see - Paternal grandparents - G'ma was from Sweden, G'pa was from Denmark. Different colors - now when I get to my father ... do I color him as American or as a Dane/Swede??? G'parents on father's side were foreign born and immigrated with their families as children .... Going to be complicated I can see that now!!! Mother's side - all English ancestry and had been here for years. Then I get to add in my brother and me - both of us adopted - so do I add OUR ancestry??? I am sure that I am reading entirely too much into this!

Specializes in PICU.

I am taking two nursing classes (but hoping to test out of 310, so that would already be down one classes), sociology, stats, and intro to latin. Latin is the only 5 week course for me and I took three years of it before in high school so I'm hoping its not gonna be too bad. I was told by one of my coworkers that stats was not that bad and she hates math and it was a five week course, so I am hoping for a good outcome. Pray for my sanity lol
