NPI needed for discounts?

I am trying to get the Verizon discount for nurses but you have to have an NPI number to be verified by ID.me. I am a new grad and just went through orientation at my hospital, and I've never even heard of an NPI before now. Isn't that usually just for NP's? Do RN's get them from employers?

National provider identifier.

It's required for advanced practice but an RN can get one.

Here is the application link. It's from the CMS website

Weird, I've got that discount and it did not require an NPI.

Are you possibly entering the wrong credentials in ID.me? I'm verified and just had to prove my RN license to be verified.

Interesting! I have an NPI number and when I applied for ID.me I was informed that they did not consider nurses to be first responders

@hppygr8ful the Verizon discount is specifically for nurses. They might have one for first responders too.

I was actually talking about ID.Me when I tried to register with them to get access to discount I was told that as a nurse I could not sign up.
