Hi has anyone applied to Novants nurse residency for Summer 2021? I applied to the charlotte market and was wondering if anyone has heard about interviews and if your application still says application received
What unit/hospital are you interviewing for? I'm surprised you got a phone call.. most recieve an email to pick a time on a scheduled day to do a zoom interview.
My interview went really good. The interview itself, for me anyway, included 2 people who were in charge of the Residency program. It was laid back, I felt extremely comfortable with them despite being nervous/excited. They just asked a few questions.. all in all it was fairly quick, about 10-15 minutes. They give you an opportunity at the end to ask any questions, but most of mine were already answered during the zoom orientation before the interviews. I recieved my offer within a week after. It was a pretty fast process after the interview took place.
Med Surg. She said most of the other specialties are already taken (ED was my top choice), possibly an ICU spot available. Any situational questions or were they more basic “Why do you want to be a nurse/work for us etc?”. I’m also looking to leave NY state so I’m kind of curious as to the hourly pay, if you’re comfortable sharing ? thank you for your help!
Lurkndmurk,
I already did the same interview that you did. They ended up just telling me that they wanted me to interview with this nurse manager from the surgical services department which is what I’m interested in. I don’t think many people express interest in that area. From what I was told from HR, she said most of the time it’s just 1 interview and offers are extended but she said it was great I got asked to set up a meeting with this woman and my interview status also changed to “initial contact made regarding offer”. So a big part of me thinks it’s really just an offer not an interview but regardless, I’ll prepare for it as if it were an interview. I have a good feeling about it and I felt good about my initial interview too ?
petitenursetobe,
Pro tip.. if you search novant on Allnurses, you can find a post where someone else actually posted what questions they ask in the interview ? Novant is extremely open about their pay, starting for RN's is $28 + $4 something for nights + $1 something for weekends. You can get a bit extra depending on your experience. Are you trying to work at Charlotte, winston or rowan?
carolinaliving,
I'm sorry! I was actually replying to petitenursetobe! I think that was a misunderstanding, but OMG! I think that does mean you're going to get an offer!! Congratulations!! Maybe the manager wants to talk to you & tell you herself? That would be pretty awesome.

Just try searching for "novant" & you will see it ? you will be able to literally read most of it in the little box before clicking on anything.
