Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014

Published

Hi future nurses! I've been searching for a recent forum of the BSN program for Winter 2014 but couldn't find any so I decided to make one myself. I applied to the Winter 2014 BSN program at NOVA. All my prereqs are done, my GPA is 3.7 and my science GPA is 3.5. I was hoping to receive feedback from anyone who has applied in the past or is currently applying like myself to the Winter 2014 program! Have any of you gotten an interview call yet?:nailbiting::nailbiting:

Hey everyone, I applied to the winter 2014 Nova Nursing Program also, but still haven't heard back for an interview/Kaplan test. I took my prerequisites at Palm Beach State and have a 3.71 over all GPA, and a 3.77 science GPA. Personally, I'm worried I won't even get called in for an interview because I had withdrawn out of 2 science courses. I retook them the following semesters and earned an A in both of them however. Regardless, that was enough for Barry to not even look at my application. Now I'm a little shook that Nova might be doing the same thing. I'm applying to FAU also, and am taking their TEAS Sept. 30th. Starting to really freak that I might not get into any program with those withdrawals. I was mostly worried about my GPA so I didn't think withdrawals would be such a problem.

You have a great GPA @dfridm I think you have a really good chance of an interview! I don't see why withdrawing a class would affect you.

@kriistennicole, I hope you're right, thanks! I had a virtual chat today with two advisors who were answering questions for Nova to whoever wanted to ask. Quite a few people had stated that they already received notification for their interview/Kaplan test. When I asked if it was possible that I hadn't received a request for an interview due to my withdrawals situation, the advisor asked me to email her so that she could look up my information. I did so, and am waiting on a response from her. I didn't realize it at the time but withdrawals matter to these programs. I thought it was just our GPA's. I tried applying to Barry University first and as soon as they seen my 2 withdrawals, they didn't even look any further. Barry did not take into account my GPA, so I'm a little worried that the same thing is going to happen with Nova.

I have pre reqs in progress and recently applied for the ban entry level program at nsu. I am so disappointed because an advisor told me that my chances of being interviewed were very low since I had pre reqs in progress.. :( anybody in the same boat??

we are in the same boat!! Im taking Micro, Sociology, A&P 2 and human growth & development this semester and the advisor told me that my application is going to remain pending. They are going to look at those who have completed 100% of the prereqs, and then, if needed, they will consider the ones with pre reqs in progress, like us.. :( I feel so sad because I really want to go to Nova! However, Im not up to wait until next fall to do my bachelor, so Ill probably apply somewhere else.. :/

Same here @glendys It's so disheartening :\ But we need to be positive. In earlier posts people were accepted with classes in progress for previous semesters.

Good luck to all of you!! :/ My interview is this Tuesday coming up and I'm sooo nervous. lol I will post about it as soon as I'm done hyperventilating after it. lol

jedayenurse Wishing you the best!!! Mine is on Thursday.. haven't even started studying yet. Had two tests this past week and have one next week along with my interview and Kaplan test.. oh and work!! About to pull a mission impossible...
