Nova Southeastern University Entry-level BSN Fall (August) 2015! (:

Published

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen a post about NSU's Entry-level BSN program for Fall 2015 so I decided to start one. If there is another thread that everyone else is on, please let me know! I double-checked to make sure there weren't any posts hiding but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I am waiting for my final transcripts to be sent to Nova. Other than that, now it's just the waiting game and I'm super anxious. They wont be calling people until Feb or March probably. I finished my AA with Broward College this December. I underestimated application deadlines and the application process to get everything together so unfortunately I will have a semester off from school.

I also applied to FAU's Traditional BSN program. I have a thread about that as well if you also applied to that school. You can jump over to that thread by clicking here

If all else fails I was thinking of just going back to Broward College, possibly their North campus.

If anyone has any stories or advice/knowledge about any of these programs, please share! If you're an applicant to NSU as well, good luck! Hope we get the responses that we want.

As far as buying things ahead, I waited until after the first day of classes to get my books because I just wanted to make sure that we will be using the books more than once. I do not have a roller bag but many people I know do. I think that they are really good because when you get into the second semester, the books get thick. I actually would recommend getting one. When it comes to buying or renting books, you can do both. I love to rent my books because they are half the price. I do own some books like the APA manual is a must for the whole duration of the program. I bought my Med-Surg book because we will be using it for three semesters. I bought my pathophysiology book because it will be a great reference for the whole duration of the program. It all depends on you. I rent my books especially because I know if I want, I can extend my rental or purchase the book at anytime.

For the uniforms, you must purchase a lab coat and the scrubs. The shoes must be white which you can find at the nursing uniform store or you can buy white sneakers (sketchers, nikes, etc.). I bought a pair of sketchers with the memory foam inside and they are perfect.

Good information thanks

Thank you. I just had my interview I personally think I did horrible. I was so nervous my voice was shakey. I honestly feel like I was to nervous to even function! I got a 73% on the Kaplan I would say that is average? Has anyone heard of someone not being admitted. I'm honestly very disappointed and sad.

Hey guys ! I just scheduled my interview for July 4. I am super nervous about the Kaplan Exam, I just bought a Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam to study from. I don't know what to expect in the interview ! I have a couple of friends that are already Nursing Students in Nova, but they started a year ago, not sure if the questions asked on the interview will be the same. Best of luck to all of you taking the exam and interview soon !! :)

You shouldn't worry, 73% I don't think is so bad, I've heard of people who have done worse. It's completely normal to be nervous, I am positive I will be the same! Don't be disappointed, don't feel discouraged, you should feel very proud! Don't worry, you will be fine! What campus are you applying to ?

Hello!

I've been reading this thread and I see that there are many people for the fall semester :) I just got my acceptance email and I'm very excited about this new opportunity!!! I hope I can meet some of you at the main campus!

hi everyone I had my interview today at the main campus, I'm so nervous I didn't do so well on the Kaplan. now it's the waiting game

Thanks I hope so. They really do make you feel comfortable but I was just so anxious I think I was intimidated. Now I just have to wait and hope for the best.

I applied at the Ft. Myers campus since I live in Naples :)

@Yudi

Good luck! Don't over think anything on the actual interview. :cat:

For my interview they asked us a little bit about ourselves, qualities a nurse should have and I cant remember the last question. Then there were two group questions.

And for the group questions do they ask each individually to answer or you just kind of join in a group discussion ? I applied for the Kendall campus, I live in Miami. I know, just thinking about it I get nervous, I can just imagine when I am actually there. Did you take the Kaplan first or after the interview ?? I have a friend who graduates now in December from Nova, she's also in the BSN program, and she said, if you get the interview, your pretty much in, just try to stay calm and relaxed, the Kaplan doesn't measure what you know. Some people are bad test takers (ME). So I feel positive, we should be fine!!

By any chance, does anyone knows if the Baptist Program is offered on the Main Campus or just in Miami Campus?

I believe it's only for the Miami campus.

Sorry I meant to say my interview is June 4th not July 4th lol
