I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current student, I'd love to hear from you!
Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?
I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!
I emailed ****** about it today and she said that they will be interviewing for the Fall 2012 applicants. She also said they would email more info about it this coming Monday, so make sure to check your emails. Ugh, this stresses me out even more!!!!! What do they ask you during the interviews ?!
I spoke with ****** briefly when i submitted my transcript yesterday. She did tell me that they will be finishing up all student profiles this weekend and that we will begin receiving emails about the interview process starting Monday. So yes we should begin checking our emails this week coming!!! She did confirm that they just added the interview this week (includes Fall applicants) and that it is a group interview (5 students). However, she was not sure the exact number of faculty members that would attend. She said that they would not ask any "personal" questions and that everyone would receive their own questions to answer (but on the website it says "personal" interview). Hmm... This makes me sooo nervous!! She said that they are hoping to give us a final answer by June. Omg I don't know if i can wait that long...... lol
Yeah, ****** told me the same thing yesterday...except her message was very vague and to the point. She said the same thing to me about starting to get email next week with more information about the interview. So it is going to be a group interview? I hate those...like, really, really hate them lol. I had read past posts about interviews and saw that they said they would have like a group of people on a certain day to interview, show them around, etc. And then call each one individually to interview them. Do you think maybe thats what she means by it? Lol wishful thinking I guess
The group interview sounds like a panel interview where you have a group of people (in this case perhaps a group filled with admission advisors and faculty) that are interviewing you at the same time. No worries. Just be yourself and you'll be fine. If you're going for Nursing with good intentions and really are passionate about helping others- you should be fine.

So did you guys get the email from NOVA? Getting that email was sorta like a reality check right now. This is it. We either get an email for an interview or not...kind deny my anxiety at the moment...

I don't know exactly what Nova will be doing but I know other schools that interview don't make it a competition between those in the interview together. All 5 students could be chosen, one could be chosen, or none could be chosen from any group. I would assume they would compare everyone together and choose the highest from all the applicants....
i recently received an email and this is what it states:

the school of nursing has added a new interview requirement to the admission process. if it appears after an initial review that you have fulfilled the required prerequisites and have met the minimum gpa, you will be selected for an interview.
selected applicants will be invited over the course of several weeks to interview at the campus location indicated on the application. interviews will be held on thursday mornings. an invitation to interview does not indicate or guarantee an offer of acceptance to the program. all eligible students must participate in the interviews to complete the admissions review process. please remain alert for emails from the admissions office inviting you to select a time and date for your interview.

after getting this email it is making me scared. i just want to enter in to this great nursing program
so that means not everybody is eligible for an interview. i hope monday they email us to let us know. maybe people who are pendind pre reqs are not eligible
