I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.
If you are:
currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current student, I'd love to hear from you!
Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?
I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

I know a friend/classmate that is still waiting too. She had the interview on the same day as me, just an hour later after mine at the Kendall as well. I noticed that they are looking for people that have been involved and that know that nursing is what they want to do!
Ofcourse...they also want people with good grades, but grades are just a plus in the overall admissions process because I know students at the interviews who had higher GPA's than I did (3.80 overalls and 3.80 in sciences) and I still got a chance for an interview like they did. My overall GPA is just a 3.20 and my science is like a 3.60 and i got in. I only have my associates degree. I have over 700 hours of volunteering and community service hours which might have been a HUGE plus. I think they might have looked at other sciences that interested me that i took at FIU: like my general biologies such as genetics, cell biology and organic chems...they might have noticed those courses too which are very rigorous and show that you have the ambition to learn more than what they require. Basically going the extra mile than what they require...
Believe in yourself...i did it! and so can anyone just be YOURSELF!!!
No man, I too am waiting. My interview wasn't until the 10th of May but still...the waiting feels the same no matter how long you have been waiting...terrible, yet strangely hopeful.
I feel confident but I don't want to feel so confident and ultimately get a rejection because that could really cut deep. Feeling like you are definitely getting something only to have it taken from you abruptly. Anyhow good luck to all of us who are still awaiting a decision and those waiting for an interview.
Okay so I had my interview on May 10 at 10:30am... I am so anxious to find out if I got in or not :/ I really hope I get in because I'm really looking forward to starting at Nova. God bless all of us who are waiting for an answer I hope we all get in and Congratulations to those who have already gotten the acceptance :) Keep me posted on everything and lets try to help each other get through this lol:nurse:
I got accepted this morning for the NOVA at Kendall Campus! Wanted to share that with all of you here! Good luck to everyone still pending! Be patient and have alot of faith!
I got in and i thought i wasnt at all because I dont have an overall "GREAT" gpa like most of the others, they look beyond that! Hey lol but I did good in the sciences ! Believe it and you'll get it!

You are right Siamiam856! I am going to email A***** today! And follow up with a call tomorrow morning. Yes, Kendall it is. The NOVA at Ft. Lauderdale is far but i would do the drive if i have to. But i think when you apply online, the campus you enter in your application is the campus will go to if chosen. I live literally 10 minutes away from the Kendall campus. It would be perfect for me.
By the way how did your interview go? Did you feel confident when you left? Im not going to lie, i felt a little intimidated but i believe i did great, that intimidation might have helped me out a bit lol.

Raccoon57 you are like me...same day interview as I! Soon you will get the response! This blog helps out alot! I am going to also pray for everyone here! If we didnt want this so bad we wouldnt all be part of the great blog helping each other out! We can be a great team...!

I just asked how the admissions process was working and If others who were interviewed on the same day got accepted if that meant we wouldn't be. She still hasn't answered probably because they are busy lol

They must have like 100 emails from students and calls lol. I know how you feel! But remember if you havent recieved a rejection letter...you still have a BIG chance because you are in the lookout! Dont worry it'll be over soon! Stay positive!
