I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?

Hi leandrito,How have you been? Want to keep you posted. I paid the first deposit just that one for now. Lol. Scheduled the orientation and completed the background application. I'm so anxious wish we can start like tomorrow. Lol have you received the package? I check my mail everyday never did that before. Hahaha. I agree with you we were a great team indeed. :). Looking forward to being a part of a great group and that goes to all of the campuses. We can all help each other in this forum. Bueno, hope to hear from you soon. Don't be a stranger keep us posted. sweetpriscy17... I know the feeling.. i got accepted a week ago to the kendall campus.. so far i know five people who got accepted ... i was in the first group of interviewers... " they said at the main campus to my friend who got the interview there that the first people for interview were the best applicant and the strongest "... I wasnt expecting to be accepted and for my surprise i received the email on saturday morning.. In my group of interviewers 4 got in out of 5.. so we were very good as a team and i think thy we all got in.... Hi sweetpriscy, Just wanted to let you know that my fingers are crossed and wish you the best of luck. Stay positive I've heard many times this process can take a while. Look at it in the bright side. You have already been chosen for an interview. :)
Ohh man!!! Well me and my friend got interviews today. Im just so anxious to know. There were alot of people being interviewed today too. All of us looked professional and answered the questions without looking dumb lol or stuttered. I guess its up to god. :)
For those who have been accepted... Have you guys heard anything about our book list ?! When do we receive it or can we get it early ( I have nothing to do this summer so might as well start on my reading lol ) and.... Do you think we'll need a stethoscope this semester?! The Littmann ones are on sale on Allheart.com so I think I might get one just because they're cheaper then usual! Ahhhh it's not even close to August yet and I already want to be prepared lol

When I registered for the orientation there was a list of different topics on the right hand side of the page. One of the items to select from was a book list. I rented the advanced a/p book and started reading it today. I heard from previous students that reading now is recommended. I don't think we'll need the stethoscope until second semester, but if it's on sale I would go ahead and order it now. I have a Littman Cardio 3. I love it!! I think reading ahead is a great idea too, being that I don't have much to do until school starts. It's a great pass time for me. Being prepared is awesome! Hope this helps :)

Oh I didn't even see that. But I will look into it and I will also rent the advanced anatomy book!!! Yeah the littmann cardio 3 is on sale for 65 instead of 95 ... So that's why I think I should purchase it ahead of time I mean the 2nd semester will. E here in no time lol thanks for the info :)

Yeah I just wanted to get the books out of the way so by orientation date the only thing I have to worry about is the uniform lol btw I don't want to wait until orientation for the scrubs ... On a previous thread I found a link where we can purchase our lab coats but I didn't see anything about our scrubs.

On the same page you register for orientation there is also a link for uniforms. I was accepted at the Fort Myers campus and the scrubs can be ordered from Hamiltons Uniform store located locally. I have a friend who started in Jan. at Nova in Fort Myers and she shared this information with me.

zulygrass... i havent received the package yet.. i have done anything lol.. next week is my crazy week i guess how does the background thing works?.. do you have to put the info or just your social.. how long does it take for the copy that need?
