Nothing can beat knowing your content!!!

Ok so guys I was debating to either focus on doing questions (my original idea) vs.focusing on the content...so I decided to go ahead and invest my time in reviewing the nursing material as oppose to doing hundered of questions and guys guess what I decided to test my plan (after reviewing the material for about 2-3 weeks) and the results are that my test scores (I'm using exam cram CD) improved drastically, before reviewing I usually ended up with getting every other question wrong or I was simply quessing, now I break down the question by knowing the patho s/s of the diseases and all of this I have done without learning about strategies..so guys my advice to you is know your content than you will be able to figure out your answer,by the way I'm taking my NCLEX August 12 and this week I will finish up my review content and next week I'm reserving just for the questions..

You think understanding the Pathophysiology of the diseases HELPS? I am really weak on this. My plan is to do the same. I am having a hard time answering the questions since i dont know some of the pathophysiology of the disease. Then maybe by doing so i will be able to answer the questions no problem plus the stra, tegies

If you know your content you will be able to eliminate the wrong answers.

I took the HURST Review and this is the same thing they told us. You have to know you core content, you can't just do 1000's of questions. I don't know if I could have passed without HURST Review, many of my fellow classmates that also passed with 75Q have said the same thing.

I'm taking RN NCLEX....when I was preparing for my exit review (Hesi some call it) I really didnt have adequate time to prepare since it was during school time so I just kept doing questions and to my lucky star I passed but I really dont recommend this method....you will feel much more competent, confident and overall calm and prepared once you get your content down....

I agree w/ you. You need to know the content/understand each questions, analyze it, and read it carefully b'coz NCLEX is very tricky. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE and most important is --- PRAYING :saint: . IM also waiting for my result.

I'm using Judy Miller Review DVD program,it also comes with test strategies and workbook and unit post tests, you can buy it on the internet, however it is very costly, roughly the 12 CD set cost around 800 dollars, but lately someone posted in here that they are through with this program and they want to sell it.Anyway the instructor in this CD makes preparing for the NCLEX more interesting and fun and really has a way of explaining the patho in an simple and easy words.

I highly recommend saunders book and stick to one book b'coz to many book is confusing. The most important is to read the rationale and practice. DONT force your self to study if your not ready. Thats my opinion.......

GOOD LUCK and above all, dont forget to pray .
