Ok let me start off with, I am amazed at your dedication, I would have turned down another path along time ago. Something is wrong if you have taken it 9x. Dont take that wrong--hear me out. THere must be something going on with your nerves, anxiety level something. Have you talked to your Dr. about maybe taking a low dose beta blocker a few days before and day of the exam? Or are your nerves working you into an unfocused frenzy and maybe could benefit from some prozac, just until you pass the test.

I was blessed to have only taken the test once, but I know the month before I was filled with such anxiety I ate-slept and breathed Nclex. It was a roller coaster.

Another option, and I would hate to hear this, but here goes....what about something besides nursing? I worked with a lady who took Nclex 8x and never did pass, she now works for Hospice doing admission stuff, as well as kind of PR type stuff. She LOVES her job. Loves it. She is still helping families, making a difference in others lives. She is an angel to those who are in need. She goes to the hospital to work with the families whose loved ones are entering hospice.

Another option she looked into before she took the hospice job was drug rep. You only had to have a degree, not be licensed. The money is great, but the travel sucks if you have little kids. I dont know your situation.

I think it is time to make a seriouse decision here. how many times are you going to try? I dont know what state your in, but I am assuming you can only take it 4x a year, so I am guessing you have been OUT of school longer than you were in. And I from what I read, I think the odds of passing go down with each subsequent attempt.

I surely do not want to burst your bubble here. I am sure you have been harder on your self than anyone else. All i am saying is maybe God has another calling for you. Maybe you really really want to be a nurse, and I am sure you would make a wonderful one, but maybe there is something else in your future that you dont even know about yet, where you could make even more of a difference.

I wish you the very best...Where ever you find a job, they will find a truly dedicated employee.

I know how you feel. I graduated last May after coasting through one of the hardest nursing schools around. I mean we start with 80, graduate 20 after having two chances to pass HESI exit or your out. I know they do this to protect the 100% nclex pass rate they have. Well that was until I came along. I made good grades, excelled in clinical and then on nclex I get 265 questions and fail. I was totally embarassed, and had to quit work where I was working with other classmates that passed. I received my sheet a week later showing all at near passing, so I scheduled to take it 45 days later. Then I failed again...... with 155 questions. his time it showed all below. Well now I'm taking it and not telling anyone when I do, nclex has been a killer to my ego and pretty well embarrasses me anytime I see my wifes (RN) friends or my former classmates. Sorry about carrying on, but I just want you to see your not alone......... Good luck to us both. :)

Thank you so much for your support and honesty, trust me, i have thought about all you wrote.. what if this isnt for me... but the bottom line is... It's all i want to become... prozac i was on at one time.. i am very hyper (in a good way) and "fast" throughout my day.. but unfortantly i worked per diem full time for the past 2 years having no health insurance.. so i am without meds i probably should be on.. im a healthy, single, 34yr without children... ect ect.. but have wonderful friends and family.... i know this stuff !!! trust me... i see it.. and my nursing supervisors see it in me as well... its just this freaking test !! the first 5 times i was not ready, i retook the exam one after the other just hoping to wing it... this last time i had my nursing supervisor tuitor me.. and she taught me how to answer the questions... now we are awaiting my results in the mail to see my weakness and we will focus on them.......she believes in me and so do i..... thank you again for taking the time to show you care..........

have a wonderful weekend, and i will keep you posted...

Thank you so so much for your support, and your story, i am so glad i found this website, i honestly felt i was the only one out there.. have you finally passed,,,, if so .. congrats congrats.. if not.. please dont give up... look at me.. i have had some tell me too... others... tell me not too.... but it all comes down to me... and i refuse to... dont get me wrong its an expensive decision.. NYS is $200 each time... im up there already !!!LOL ... but again... thank you thank you thank you...

I am telling you guys that if I could give you all a grade for sheer determination and perseverance, you would all get A+++ with highest honors! I am wishing you all the very best! :) :) :)!

Wow, honestly speaking I admire you for not giving up. Have faith! We believe that you can make it. hmmm, make sure that you have read and understand Mosby prioritization & delegation 3x before you take nclex exam again. I'm not a very good test taker but I guess it would be a help because it wl get you familiarize on prioritization & delegation matters. Also check your notes about health teachings and infection control. I wish you luck and i'll pray for you. Take care. GO GO GO! YOU CAN DO IT MMATY! :yeah:

Ok I know I sound like a broken record on this site but I truly believe that the nclex has nothing to do with what kind of nurse you will be. I've been a nurse for a long time. I have seen many nurse fail the nclex multiple times and then finally pass it and they were awesome nurses and I have seen plenty of nurses pass it their first time around and I wouldn't let them near my dog. You made it through nursing school so you are intelligent!!!!! Just not the best test takers in the world. And honestly if the nclex you take on the computer these days is anything like the Nursing board test I took almost 20yrs.ago, I am not so sure the people who wrote it weren't on drugs anyway. So think positive and tell yourself over and over again I can do this. I will Pass!

Michelle,,,,I am sorry to hear that you have failed in the past....but you can beat the test!!!! When you have gone in and sat down to take the tests.....how did you feel??? Were you nervous....to the point you could not concentrate???? Well,,,I believe that because I told myself I WAS NOT going to let less test get to me....that ..that is what saved me...and I passed.....!!!! You can too!!!.....I am sure you know all there is to know....so you need to think and ACT like a nurse when taking the test!!! Would you freak out when a patient needs you???? NO I think not!!!...You would do what you need to do for them....so when taking the test...you can only take one question at a time....be "in" the question...think like a nurse.....but dont get nervous ......remain calm...like you would if you were at work...YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :nurse: I did.....and you can too!!!!!!!

This is sooooo motivating! I am testing for the 2nd time this tues (march 4th) pray for me plz...

Hy prayers and heart go out to you!!! I'm so so sorry. you can do this: I didn't use a reveiw coorifice. I tookthe test on the 12th. and passed. I did'nt do a review coorifice. I used the Saunders book.

STEP1: Breath

STEP2: Think ABC saftey and Maslow

STEP3: Breath

STEP4; Think concepts.. the big picture

I will pray for you..... good luck
