Hi everyone, starting a forum to discuss updates about the hiring process for Northwell's August 2023 Fellowships. Just applied last week to NSUH and LIJ, haven't heard anything yet.

Hey! Would you mind if I private messaged you for the recruiter's number? I had messaged her on linkedin over a week ago and she has not responded, so I just wanted to follow up with her in case she missed it.

yes go ahead!

can anyone who interviewed for the April fellowship share how their in person interview went please? what to expect and what kind of questions? if anyone interviewed specifically for MICU too I'd appreciate the insight!

hi, I applied for the April fellowship & was offered a position. the in person questions vary from unit to unit im pretty sure but for me it was the standard:

tell me about yourself

strengths and weaknesses

what made you choose northwell

and a clinical question that was very simple

hi could you share what your clinical question was like please?

has anyone heard back from the fellowships at lenox hill?

No, I applied to critical care and ED a month and a half ago but both of mine still say "application received"

amazing, just messaged you!

Just scheduled my in person ED interview for South Shore ? if you're at another site like Lenox Hill I wouldnt worry too much bc different sites go at different paces and they probably have a large volume of applicants... I think they interview internal applicants first

are you an internal applicant?

I worked there last year but don't now, so no. But South Shore is a lot smaller than Lenox, LIJ and North Shore so I don't think they had as many applicants

I applied to LIJ and North Shore as well but only heard from south shore

I think that it'll be different for you because my interviewer seemed to make it up on the spot. but it wasn't anything specific to my specialty (onc), she just gave a past medical history, morning assessment, and then current situation and asked me what I would do. then she followed up and asked me what I think the patient is going through, and after that followed up again and asked me what I would do based off of each of my guesses.

for anyone nervous about the in-person interview, I went through a few of this channel's (new grad nursing interview coach) videos and it helped a lot. she does a video on how to answer clinical scenario qs as well and that helped me.

Hello everyone,

just got a reach out to do the on demand interview for the Periop fellowship for august! Anyone else get a call? Also are the on demand questions standard across fellowship specialties?
