Northeastern University Direct Entry September 2016

Published

It's a little early but I just wanted to start this to see if anybody has heard from Northeastern University regarding an interview or decision. All posts about the school/application and acceptance process welcomed!! Looking forward to hearing from some people!

I got a call this Monday about how I was doing in my prereqs. She told me she'd be in contact by the end of the week

@rj_gunner: I have a phone interview tomorrow. If i were you, i'd email or call, that's what i did in order to get this phone interview. They had some questions about my pre-reqs hence why it was taking so long. My track is adult/gerontology acute care.

Called, didn't get much of an answer. Woman was very vague almost as if she couldn't be bothered. She said I should be getting a letter in a month and said if an interview was necessary it would of happened by now.

Yea I haven't heard much either. But I am accepting a spot in a masters program. I think the specialty I applied for is interviewing last according to other posts. Good luck. I hope you hear something soon.

@ rj_gunner: Yeah i've noticed that emailing them is more useful. You should try emailing. What's your track again?

I've also found that speaking directly with a direct entry person is best. Janet Briand-McGowan runs the undergrad portion and is very nice. Try calling her. Or a direct entry counselor. One I spoke with was Nadia Bachiri

I applied for the psych track. I emailed and it was kind of the same response. Interviews are still being conducted. . . I'm just gonna wait it out. Good luck to all who got interviews.

Got the call yesterday that I'm in! Good luck to all who are still waiting

@capegirl2 congrats! I did the interview on Thursday! I hope to get in as well, but she told me she still had to interview a couple of ppl as well and that I should hear back in a couple of week... (fingers crossed).

@rj_gunner the person who interviewed me said that If you have to hear back on the decision a little sooner so you can make up your mind about which school to attend, to just let them know. They understand there are some students who have applied for multiple schools.

I emailed a few weeks ago asking if interviews were still being held, because I have still not heard anything from them since submitting my application....this is all I received.

"Thank you for your email. Unfortunately we don't have an exact date of when the decisions will be made. Once a decision is available applicants will be notified via email and an official decision letter will be mailed to applicant. "

Anyone else still in the same boat? I am pretty discouraged at this point, but I am on one waitlist and really trying to be patient ! Congrats to all who have made it !

molldoll47 Sorry for the late response! I called in a while ago to ask about whether or not we'd receive any official package with information for the program and they said that once they've accepted everyone they'd send an official package out. I called the financial aid office and they told me FAFSA was due March 1st... but I don't see how that'd be possible considering people are currently still being interviewed.. So I'm hoping things become more clear by the time we have our cohort complete. I was also emailed about a pre req and in that same email they told me that our cohort would meet sometime in June.

Thanks Ijfo! I was able to gather a lot of the same information when I called them. I submitted my FAFSA about 3 weeks past the March 1 deadline but I'm hoping I'll still get at least a little bit of aid.

For anyone who's definitely attending in the fall, what are your thoughts on creating a facebook group? Also, would anyone currently living in the Boston area want to meet up for coffee or drinks? It'd be great to start getting to know you guys!
