It's a little early but I just wanted to start this to see if anybody has heard from Northeastern University regarding an interview or decision. All posts about the school/application and acceptance process welcomed!! Looking forward to hearing from some people!
has anyone else heard back about being accepted? i interviewed two weeks ago and still nothing.... this is so nerve wrecking... how did most people find out about being accepted? Did they email or call you guys?
I found out a week after my interview by phone. The director of the program called me and told me about being "conditionally" accepted because they still needed two finals grades for the last two prerequisites. So you'll probably get a phone call if you get accepted. And in terms of the long response time... my friend got accepted a week ago without an interview and hadn't heard from them since December (when she applied).
However, not to burst your bubble, but they sent out an email containing all the information about open house, orientation, necessary forms, etc. about two days ago. I'm not sure if they sent this out to everyone but someone said in a previous message that they send these stuff out when everyone has been accepted. So I'm not so sure what's going to happen to those who haven't heard back. But I'm also thinking, they do it by specialty so it might just be the pediatric primary care track that is finalized.
Hope this helps... let me know if you have anymore questions!
So, it should be by phone I would assume because everybody so far has gotten a call. I got a call last week and that was just about 2 months after my interview! So I wouldn't worry too much. As far as the email about open houses etc. goes I have not gotten that yet but I got official confirmation that I was accepted by phone, email and a letter. What I've realized after literally months of stressing is that no matter what is occurring with others applying to this program- NEU is disorganized. They are scrambling to make final decisions and I wouldn't worry too much about what others have received/not received. If you had an interview only two weeks ago they a probably trying to organize all of their final choices and will be letting you know very soon. Like I said, TRY not to compare yourself with others already accepted bc I did that for 2 months and was absolutely positive I did not get in when I got that acceptance call. If they called you for an interview they're definitely interested!

I think in my case it's taking so long because of my track (Acute Care) which doesn't seem to be that popular so they are probably interviewing applicants for that track last. I've spoken with Janet Briand-McGowan last Saturday during the Graduate Open House and she also thought it was strange that it would be taking this long and she asked me if i had been placed on the waitlist...What kills me though is not knowing whether or not i've been accepted, not even my portal has been updated. If your theory is right then they should've sent rejection letters/emails as well, they can't just leave us hanging. Well i guess i just have to be patient and see. Thanks for the quick response byang!

Wow two months!?? that's crazy. I've been waiting for over two weeks and i'm dying lol. Ok that's reassuring so i might still have a chance. Yes, people have told me that about the interview. I've also spoken with the director Janet Briand-McGowan during the Open House and she told me that if i had been interviewed then it must mean that there was something on my application that they liked. Also, she said that this year's cohort was going to be about 38 students which will be their largest group, and i don't think they have accepted all 38 people...So hopefully, i'll get in. Thanks capegirl2 for your feedback, i feel more at ease now.

I think it's great that you talked with Janet who is the director of the DE program. She's the one who called me. So I would just reach out to her again and get information straight from her. I know how frustrating it can be not knowing and I can only imagine how awful it is to wait for longer than two weeks! But I also agree with capegirl that NEU is very unorganized with their processes and you have to be patient with them. I'm sure they will get in contact with you soon! And echoing capegirl about the whole comparison thing... don't compare yourself to the other people here because I feel like everyone is on a different path and will find out on their own time. Just be patient my man and everything will work out! Best of luck dude!

I've emailed both Janet and Susan who interviewed me, so far I haven't gotten a reply. So at this point, i'm not going to worry about it. Like you guys said, it seems like there's a lot of disorganization in the program, so there's no point in stressing myself out.... If it's meant for me to get in then i will, otherwise there are other programs out there available too. Thanks byang! Best of luck to you too in the program. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
Hi All,
I completed the on campus direct entry program, and the program details are very disorganized and the administration is incredibly disorganized and very bad at getting back to you. I did have several excellent professors and clinical instructors, but overall the program is disorganized. If you can handle this, then go for it, but if you require more guidance and clarity then perhaps this is not for you.
Best of luck
