Hi everyone! I thought I'd start this thread for anyone else who applied to the Northeastern Direct Entry Program for 2021!

She said it’s kind of like a rolling admission in groups and that not everyone gets an interview because there are so many students. She said there’s only about 6 spots per specialty (now I’m even more nervous) but she said 100% NCLEX pass rate most years (94% years where only one student had to take a second time and pass) for the direct entry and she doesn’t remember any student not passing NP exam but she was AGACNP director before this position so NP numbers could vary for sprxialty
I’m really torn between northeastern and Boston college. Northeastern has acute care that I want but Boston college ends up with a DNP and no RN requirement so I can choose my pace but no acute care and either way I’d have to go back to get what the other lacks
Wow thank you for calling and providing those stats! That's amazing they have a 100% NCLEX pass rate, that really puts me at ease because I was getting second thoughts about this program. But wow only 6 spots per specialty ?? that is super competitive

Lately I have been hearing that DNP is not necessary if you want to be an NP. People have been saying that NPs will need a DNP for a while now without progress on the requirement, and regardless NPs with MSNs will be grandfathered in anyway if there does end up being a DNP requirement. There also apparently isn't a pay difference between the two degrees. I've mainly been seeing DNPs for nurses that want to go into administration. This is just what I have been seeing on the subject matter.

They’ll be out this week
Ah congratulations!! ? thank you for letting us know!!
