Northeastern Direct Entry 2021

Hi everyone! I thought I'd start this thread for anyone else who applied to the Northeastern Direct Entry Program for 2021!

To be honest, I'm not sure. That's just what someone posted on the forum. I think the information might be inaccurate. I just looked it up and found a blog about life as a columbia nursing student and they seem to actually have that after their first year in the program.

I also applied for psych but haven't heard anything since the interview email! I emailed sue a couple of days ago to get a more accurate timeline but she hasn't responded to me yet.

OK! I just called (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) asking if she knew when I'd hear back and she basically explained that the applications are sent to the heads of each specialty for review, then they split up interviews between her and the specialty heads.
She said she hasn't heard back from the PMHNP head about setting up my interview, so we just did it on the spot ? it was a little nerve-wracking but she was super nice and the questions were easy. 
Sue told me she'd have my decision in about a week now that I've interviewed. She explained the reason it's taking so long is because they're such a small program that they need to have rolling decisions lest they admit more people than they have spots for. So basically they've admitted a couple PMHNP students and they are waiting to hear back from them (yes or no to NE) to see if more spots open.
If you haven't heard anything yet I'd recommend giving her a call and asking about an interview! It kind of sounded like they wanted to interview everyone, but it also seems like it's up to the program heads, who are apparently behind on responding.

Wow, thanks for the update! Darn, now I wish I had called her instead of emailing her. I'm hoping for good news next week for you!

you definitely should! If anything it shows you're interested in the program still! I had emailed and called a few times before today, and I was scared that I was annoying them, but she was super nice. Just be prepared, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) might interview you on the spot ? if not, she's probably waiting to hear back from the FNP head!

Yup, I called around 1:30 today. It seems like by phone is the best way to reach them!

oh gosh, I called around this time last Friday and the same thing happened. I ended up leaving a voicemail after a few times, and the next day (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) emailed me saying my decision would be out this week. I didn't hear anything else so that's why I called again today! They honestly might have left the office for the day? But they did get my voicemail so try that!

Honestly it’s very concerning that their communication is all over the place!

Oh okay! I'll definitely give (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) a call next week. I guess this is a program where you really have to fight for your spot ?
