Northeastern Direct Entry 2019

Published

Thread for the incoming 2019 Northeastern Direct Entry applicants so we can help each other out through the application process.

Yeah, seems like I’ve been ghosted as well. Put down my deposit for Yale. Good luck to everyone, wherever you go!

@ali1541: I got my decision for NNP and I got waitlisted. Kinda stung, but I’ll live!

but for everyone else: check your email! You might find out there your results!! I got mine for Neonatal NP!

I also got mine for NNP, but will be declining so maybe that will hopefully open a spot for you @hakutai839

I'm currently on the cusp of deciding! I'm giving myself until Wednesday, but yeah... it was a program I liked but also I just wish I knew a bit earlier!

Much congratulations!

Has anyone else heard anything? I applied for PMHNP and haven’t heard anything other than the admissions department telling me that they’re “still reviewing applications”.

Applied to PMHNP as well, haven't heard anything at all since I reached out in late January and was told decisions would go out in "March and April." When did you last hear from them?

So,

First I was waitlisted and the email said to reply if I wanted to secure my spot on the waitlist. I didn’t respond and I figured that would mean I forefeited my spot. I get another email a month later saying congratulations that I was admitted to the program with instructions to pay a deposit by a certain timeframe, which I didn’t. I figured this for sure would mean that my application would be withdrawn. I was wrong again. Today, someone from northeastern personally called me to ask if I was still interested in attending this fall....

I have a feeling, due to their poor communication with applicants and delayed/confusing method of releasing admissions decisions, that fewer people than they initially projected are committing to the program (at least for AGPC).

Maybe they won’t be as disorganized next year?

It's like someone's running the program from the trunk of a car....

I wouldn’t be shocked tbh hahah

Just got a form letter (without the date filled in... it legit says "April X, 2019") that reads, in part,

Quote

"Thank you for your continued interest in the Direct Entry Nursing program at Northeastern University and your patience during the application decision period. This year we are faced with a larger and more qualified applicant pool with more than 400 applications for 36 openings.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you acceptance in the Direct Entry program, but based on the strength of your application, we encourage you to consider our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program for Fall 2019. The ABSN program replicates the curriculum of the first portion of the Direct Entry program, using a combination of online didactic coursework, on-site clinical instruction and labs, on-site testing, and clinical placements within affiliated health care facilities in the Charlotte area. The nurse of today is offered many opportunities for a fulfilling career. The Northeastern ABSN program will prepare you for a successful and rewarding career as a registered nurse while also giving you the experience needed to make a more educated decision about your entry into the field of advanced nursing.

Our ABSN program offers three start dates a year at our campus in Charlotte, North Carolina. We still have openings for our Fall 2019 start in Charlotte, and we are offering a tuition reduction in the amount of $20,000 to high-potential Direct Entry applicants who successfully enroll in and complete the Charlotte ABSN program. To assist you with the decision, we encourage you to review the detailed ABSN program information here."

So, at least there is an answer! I don't know about any of you, but the failures to communicate have been straight-up embarrassing on the part of NEU - right through to this email. The offer to "be considered" for their Charlotte NC program is... laughable.

Hope some of the rest of you guys got good news today or landed on a program that is hopefully less disorganized!

I got this same email!

I'm not sure if they got much more applicants than any of the other schools, because MGH, Simmons, and BC were not this slow in getting back to me. But I doubt it...

Has anyone been admitted off the waitlist, yet?
