North Shore University Hosp RNs please help

Published

Hi All,

I had the great opportunity to work with NSUH as a med secretary in the past and I would love to work there again as an RN.

I had a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer.

1. I was curious about what the salary range is for a new nurse, including differentials etc.

2. How are nursing internships set up? I'm particularly interested in CCU or CVICU, even telemetry if that will get my foot in the door.

3. Any other info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Kris

Rates vary even within the NS-LIJ facilities. At the Manhasset facility starting salary for new nurse without experience:

ADN is $60,277

BSN is $61,377

Night diff is between $5,200-$5,600 I cant recall which.

Experienced nurses get about 50cents/hr more for each year up to 30 years

Hourly Breakdown (new grad):

ADN $30.91

BSN $31.47 BSN with night diff $34.14

Hope that helps,

~Kat

Thank you, Kat. Appreciate your getting back to me!

As far as CCU an CVICU (what they call CTU), check out their Critical Care Fellowship Program. I went through it and thought it was not too bad. I currently work in the CTU. Good Luck!!
