Hello- Just want to say a huge thanks to all of the Texas members. I have narrowed my search in my qwest to be back in the great state!!! I am planning a relocation back to the Houston area as soon as I sell my house in the dreaded city of Phoenix!! Not a desert kind of girl. So, I need your advice. I want to live in a quaint city outside of the Houston hustle and bustle! I am familiar with Katy but have been reading up on other areas like Spring. I want a small town country feel but an area that has some character and not just family-oriented master planned suburbs. I like for instance old town Katy b/c of the older more historic houses and quaint shops but there must be other surrounding cities I hope that have this same type of feel. I will not pursue the job search until closer to the move but I know that I want to work outside of the Houston hospitals so I dont have to make the commute. I am familiar with Memorial hermann katy and I assume there are other hospital systems in the North, Northeast cities that I could go. I am 33 and single but I really want to steer clear of the big city thing. Had enough of that here in Phoenix. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Overall, I want that small town feel but something besides strip malls. :) Does this exist?? Thanks again!

Tapple,
Humble, Texas (NE of Houston) has Northeast Hermann Memorial Hospital. However the traffic around Humble is crazy during rush hour. This side of town is entirely too congested. They need to widen the roads to make room for all the growth on this side.
I would recommend checking around Conroe, Texas, if you want a country type atmosphere. Its just north of houston on I-45. A short commute would include Conroe's hospital, the Woodlands Hosp. and also Houston Northwest .
Good luck!

Any particular reason you're wanting to focus on the N/NE side specifically?
I'm open to other areas around houston as well. I had just heard good things about this area in particular and that Memorial hermann which i have also heard good things about had several locations in these areas?

I know Brenham is a ways out there but it looks like it has tons of character, just curious if you know anything about it and how long would a commute to some of those hospitals you mentioned above be?? I'm probably way off here since i'm not familiar with these areas but just thought i'd ask. I will definitly look into to Conroe!

There's Conroe, Brenham, Tomball, Humble, Spring, and Katy. I'm sure there are several facilities along Beltway 8 on the outskirts of Houston.
My suggestion would be to go to a site like Mapquest or Yahoo Maps and look at the area of Houston you are interested in and then search the area for hospitals. After that just search online for the hospital and real estate in the area.
