North Hennepin Community College program?

U.S.A. Minnesota

I'm going to be applying for the program in January of 2014 once my Anatomy grade goes through. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything more about this new MANE curriculum they're implementing at the school? According to the new program, my 3.0 GPA for the prereque's plus whatever I get on the TEAS test will determine if I get accepted. How hard is it to usually get in there?

Also, I've been thinking about applying for the Normandale program as well. They're also using the MANE program. Do people usually apply to more than one program? Would it be a good idea to apple to both?

Thanks in advance.

Good Job! That's a huge improvement! Wow that's a huge difference in numbers for applicants. Well maybe 61 now cause mine just got there ;) To be honest I have no idea where Inver Hills CC even is...

Thanks! I was happy with it. And I guess it'd be 62 because I handed in my application right after I got out of that info session I attended. And yeah going to that session was the first time I even went to the Inver Hills campus.

Btw hope your TEAS exam went well!

Congrats on your teas score! That's a significant improvement. I'm glad to hear what you heard about the number of applicants at IHCC. That 800 number sounded like it was too much of a stretch to be real. I think I need to stop listening to others at my school and know that I did the best I could do...and hopefully that's good enough to get in :) Good luck to you and I hope you get in at IHCC!

There are only 62 applications??? I am thinking people are going to be mailing and dropping off their applications some time this week since the deadline is only 2 days away! Im just curious who did you speak to at IHCC about the MANE program? Every time I call and ask they do not have any information for me. I just want to get a better idea as to where I stand!

Thanks!

I feel the same way! You did the best you could do and you just have to keep trying to get in! I wish you the best of luck!

I don't remember what her name was. I think it was Jen? Something that started with a J. She was really reluctant to say what the numbers were because she wasn't sure so there's a good chance its not accurate at all.

I know Anoka-Ramsey was expecting to have around 300 applicants. I think all the programs in the cities have at least 60 spots to fill. So an applicant pool ≤ 60 would be unrealistic.

I got my letter in the mail Saturday. I was accepted into the program at Anoka-Ramsey Community College!!!! I was (am) so excited, I couldn't sleep all night...and I've read the letter about 73 times :)

I talked to the nursing department around March 5th and they told me they had 420 applicants for Anoka-Ramsey Community College. So my heart kind of sank, but I got in with an 11.62! Not sure of any other scores, but the 11.62 got me in ;)

bucketlist--I got my letter Saturday also!! Looks like we'll be starting the ARCC program together. :) Now I'm really curious as to who you are...maybe I'll find out tomorrow in Microbiology? I have Filler on Tues/Thurs at 9:30 a.m. You?

Congratulations on getting in! I can't wait to find out who else made it!!

jkav--Congratulation to you too! Your overall score was amazing (Yes, I did read your other post ;))! I see I forgot to mention it in my last post, I'm going to be attending the program at the Cambridge Campus. Are you Coon Rapids or Cambridge? The Cambridge campus was my first choice, with Coon Rapids being my second. I live up that way and can make it to campus without hitting any traffic or stop lights. Coon Rapids is about an hour for me otherwise. I would have taken either, but I'm so glad I got my first choice :)

I'm turning in my acceptance form and dual admission form today! I also want to find out when we need to sign up for that nursing orientation in August? And it looks like everything that's due for us to turn in prior to starting the program is due by Aug. 4th. However, some of those things say they will be covered during the nursing orientation, but that's after the due date. So I just want to clarify and make sure I have everything to them in time. Also, when is registration for the nursing classes? I'm not sure if it's the same as regular ARCC classes or not. I guess I just have a lot of questions!

Ah! I forgot all about the Cambridge campus. I'll be attending Coon Rapids.

I have tons of questions too! For example, it says to attend orientation Aug 4, 5, or 6. How do we sign up for it? Do they need to know ahead of time which day we choose? What time will it be? Where? Also, it says to have proof of a physical examination and required immunizations by August 4. Specific info will be noted at orientation. So how do we provide proof of what they're looking for if the details won't be given out until we get there? And they want it by Aug. 4, but what if we choose Aug 5 or 6? It's kind of a confusing letter. Hopefully we'll get more information soon. I'm going to talk to someone tomorrow to try to clear up some questions I have.

I just found out this weekend that I got into AR's (Coon Rapids) 2014 program too! So excited!!! Glad I found this thread because I too am confused on when/how things are going to happen this fall.
