north harris comunity college???

does anyone attend this college and if so can you give me any suggestions as to which teacher to take for chemistry!! thanks

I am attending classes at NHC. Can anybody please tell me how to calculate the score? I have taken several pre-reqs already and would like to have a heads up on where I stand.

Edit: Never mind all. I found it on another thread.

The point system is what they use to determine who will be accepted into the program. There is 12 possible points. You can receive up to four points for the amount of pre-req hours you have completed. In order to get the whole four points (which you will need if you want to get in) you will have to have completed 28-31 hours of the nursing pre-reqs (Engl., Psych; A & P I, A & P II, Microbiology, Life Span, Sociology, PE, Fine Arts, and I don't remember what else). The next four points are your combined GPA for Eng., A & P I and Psych. The next four points are determined by the reading comprehension score on your HESI exam.

Hope this helps. Out of 12 points, I got an 11.448 and was accepted into the nursing school at Cy-Fair. I think it is that competitive at all the NHCCD campuses, though.

Nevermind....found it

Its funny people always hear different things!! It gets frustrating after awhile. I talked to a counsler for prarie view at the university center this summer and she told me it was alot easier to get into the bsn program than the adn program... But who really knows!!! Im begining to wonder why I want to be a nurse except for the fact I always have since I was a child... I had no idea how competitive it is, I wish someone would have told me before hand. no I have not taken nutrition but plan on taking that in spring statistics Im a little scared of.:uhoh3: I have thought about doing the lvn to rn too but im not sure..... goodluck oh by the way I did send you a private message

I went to North harris for one semester and got kicked out due to clinicals....my clinical teacher was CRAZY. i had jan...the lady who wears the hat and has alot of botox and permanent make up on her face. she looks suprised all thetime. She's very jittery and anxious and not very organized. Anyways i hated the nursing homes and what not ...neways ...the theory classes were so easy in north harris..i had A's and B's..but for the clinicals she failed me but i was going through something at the time and i didnt want my associates ...i got into a BSN program after i took a few more prereqs from north harris and while yes it is easy to get into a bsn..it wasnt easy to stay. I strugled int he BSN program and had to take a few courses repeatedly but hey once the RN boards came around...i did NOT STUDY , and i daydreamed alot during the test and i passed the first time. in other words...the RN board exam was NOTHING compared to each exam I took at my nursing school. each exam was done on the computer and we could never go back to a previous question. nursing school was tough but i'm so glad i don't have my ADN now.
