North Ga College And State University Fall 2010!!

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I just got my late acceptance for NGCSU today!! I am so excited! I have been on the waiting list for the 2nd year and its about time!! But has anyone else been accepted for fall? I didn't see a thread on it. Congrats to all!!! YAY!:nurse:

I'm nervous as well. I have a few courses I dropped several years ago, and I hope they don't hurt my chances. I put down Gainesville as my 1st choice and Dahlonega as my 2nd choice. I live in Gainesville, so I hope that I get my first choice.

I also applied to the program for the Fall of 2011. I'm hoping to get into the Lanier/Forsyth campus. My teas test was not that great 74%, but my GPA is 3.78. I have a A/A in Chem 1151, A&P 1 A/B and A&P 2 A/A, I'm taking Micro in the Spring '11. I just can't wait to find out if I got into the program. I'm a older student. I will be 40 in March. Good luck to you all.

for students who are not already RN's they have to start at the ASN level and then once they are done they can bridge to their BSN. I don't know why they don't offer a BSN for incoming students that aren't already RN's. But I was trying to get my BSN but didn't get accepted anywhere. So I can just get my ASN and atleast I can start my career then either do online courses or go to school 1 day a week and 2 online classes. It only takes a year also to bridge from ASN-BSN. I am excited either way!! I can't believe how wonderfully it worked out! I got accepted to the campus right down the street from me! The Main campus is 30 miles north of me. Its easy for me to think about how I wont have my BSN but I have to ignore that side of me and be grateful that I even got accepted anywhere. I was on the waiting list at NGCSU for the second year. But to answer you question lol... yes your right.

I tried to send you a message. I would love to learn what schools you applied to. I do believe I may have alot to learn from your process.

Thanks:)

Hey guys..sorry I am late getting back to you all. I didn't realize this thread had more posts! But anyways, Lesuga you have a great chance of getting accepted! If you get wait listed, just know that you still have a shot. I mean, I had totally given up on this year! But falconwidow, unfortunately they don't look at chem grades. (I had done mine too) but they are important for the BSN bridge so if you do want to go that route thats good that they are out of the way. You guys all have really competitive gpa's and TEAS scores. I got accepted when my teas was only 72.4. So an 80 and up is WAY better than that! I really am glad that my posts have helped you all I hope I can answer more questions for you. Oh the Lanier tech campus is seriously awesome!! I mean, My instructor is THE best I have ever had. She is truly a great woman and nurse. I feel totally lucky to have picked Lanier tech campus (forsyth). I have heard that usually the younger students get Dahlonega (could be wrong) but I think thats related to living on campus. Gainesville seems okay, don't know much about it. Except for one girl that had some issues but she is another story. ;) If you all have learned anything from me its that I never gave up! So if you all do become discouraged just keep going. I mean, if this is what you want then you have to go get it. I wasn't going to give up. Even though the definition of insanity is to do something over and over and expect a different outcome (my dad said this to me about constantly re-applying) it doesn't matter b/c if you don't go a little nuts you will give up. lol..j/k. no but really, its not nuts its just part of the competitiveness of nursing. I am just really hopeful that I am able to find a job out of school. I have heard from several people that the market is pretty bad and hospitals really just aren't hiring. Oh well, I have come this far.. I can't let that discourage me now. GL to you guys in applying. I applied everywhere but my grades weren't the best. I only had a 3.2 and a 72.4 teas. I think it was because of re-taking classes. I now have like 92 hrs for an ASN..kinda humorous. I have erased my old messages so now I can receive some so if you want to pm me it will let you. :)

Thank you so much for that encouragement. I'm trying to stay up in that area because my family is local and they have offered me free rent. I have applied to several schools and have had nothing but bad luck when it comes to them accepting courses (I'm always "missing" classes that I've already taken). So far everything with North GA has panned out wonderfully. I'm 100% impressed with the staff and organization of the college and the cute little "Happy Holidays" card I received around Christmas. I'm going to be absolutely devestated if I don't get granted Nursing acceptance!

nrice28,

I wanted to touch base with you since you have completed your first year of nursing school at the Lanier campus. CONGRATS!!! I start in August at the Lanier Campus. Can you answer some questions for me. Do you start clincals the first semester? If so when? Do you recommend taking any other classes with the 6 hours of nursing classes. I have completed all my ASN pre-reqs, but was wondering if I could handle an Eng lit class as well. How much time did you have to study for just the nursing classes? Did you have to be at campus at 6:30am until 3pm, the schedule says that is the hours, I was wondering what it really entails. Any input of advice you could give would be GREATLY appreiciated.

Sincerely,

Falconwidow :)
