Hi im from South Africa and I hate nursing. I moved from a busy labour ward in a hospital to a clinic abd I still hate it. I dont even want to treat patients anymore. I did a phc diploma after my four year diploma thinking phc is what would make me happy, but my joy and patience is running thin. I want a non clinical nursing job or Im going to have to change my career all together. Somebody please advise on what I can do! Thanks

There are many nursing jobs that have no patient care involved, which you may or may not be qualified for depending on a number of factors including your previous experience. My general advice would be to do some research into what types of non bedside roles are available in your area and what qualifications you might need.
Sorry if this isn't particularly helpful but I honestly have no clue what type of non bedside positions are available in South Africa. Here there are plenty of options like case management, chart review and auditing, insurance work and medical sales just to name a few.

Have you thought about working in community health? You will likely still see patients, but it may be less often and you will not feel as rushed when working with them. It sounds like you have some valuable nursing experience to bring to the table.
Also, maybe a little vacation could help, if that's an option for you at this time. Best of luck to you!

Be on the lookout for jobs in quality, or chart auditing. Those will not require any patient contact. Infection control may not as well.
Best of luck!
