Has anyone received a temporary license from Ohio without taking the NCLEX, due to omnibus signature concerning covid-19??

Wonder how this is going to be walked back after the crisis ends. For that matter, it just might prove, or at least present evidence, that safe practice can be achieved without taking and passing NCLEX.

Is it a temporary license or a temporary practice permit? Temporary practice permits used to be common back in the days when boards were only offered twice a year. They allowed graduates to practice as a graduate nurse (which is not quite the same as a licensed nurse) until he or she either proved they had minimum competency by passing or showed they didn't by failing. Many facilities restricted what actions a GN could do on their own- for example, I was not permitted to perform surgical counts as a GN in the operating room. However, it is a way to get staff in the door, and in this time I can see those temporary practice permits making a comeback until things settle.
