NNAS process

World Registration

Published

Hello everyone, I am new to this website.

I've found some information about the nnas process but all the information is quite old and also I couldn't find anything about a successfull NNAS application.

I just finished sending all the documents to NNAS so I have a few questions for you, hopefully someone can help me..

1) How long does it take nnas to issue an advisory report after submitting all the necessary documents?

2)What happens if I am "not comparable"/ "somewhat comparable" or "comparable"?

3)Have any of you went through a "competency assessment"? If so, could you tell me more about it?

4) Have any of you taken the NCLEX? How did you prepare for it and overall how difficult is it?

5) Have any of you applied to a nursing college even after being deemed "not comparable" or "somewhat comparable"? Is that possible?

Please tell me what NNAS has written on your report and what you did as a consequence!

Have a great day and thanks in advance to whoever will answer!:cat:

(Ps: I've got my nursing degree in Italy.)

It was fairly straightforward after getting comparable report. I got license in BC in approximately 10-14 days. They were so responsive:)

Congratulations! I'm so glad to see more people having a comparable report, it used to be so rare. I think it will take my regulatory body about 6 weeks to confirm my license to BCCNP but once they I hope I will my license in 10-14 days too!

How was job hunting? How is it working there?

I am still in States. Also, I am not a US or Canadian citizen, so job hunting is tough.

Sorry to hear that, are you seeking entry to Canada with Express Entry? I am. Are you part of any FB groups? We might have a lot things in common.

Yes, I am trying. Which FB group? I think I am not.

There's tons of different ones. There's ones for New grad nurses, ones for Express entry. For non US residents in healthcare. Were you able to seek provincial nomination once you got your nursing license from BCCNP? I'm hoping to look into that, the scores for rounds of invitation have been so high for almost a year.

BC gives PNP only if you have job offer, so no, I didn’t get BC PNP

I should grad in the next month or so and am preparing to try to register in BC as an RN. I'll keep everyone in the loop on how it goes. I have a BA previously and an ASN for my RN. Do you think I need to upgrade to a BSN first? I am thinking .

I would suggest upgrading to the BSN before doing the registration into Canada. That is my plan too. Also, I literally just completed my RN-BSN with this past week. I put in a lot of time on my off shifts and I was able to complete the program in 3 months. I highly recommend it!

Definitely get your BSN. I’ve heard from others they will give u a not comparable result if you only have your ADN.
