Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
I took the exam march 4 and passed. To those who will take the exam soon here's my advise, take it easy, don't panic. Read the code, guidlines, updates, confidentiality and BE FAMILIARIZED ON UK SETTING. Those who work/worked in the hospital have the advantage as for most situational questions are commonly encountered inside the hospital (shock, allergies, easy drug calc, dm, dementia, infection control).
:-D :-D
Another piece of advise, if you don't the answer, chose the option which prioritizes the patients welfare or the most ideal one.
Best of luck to all!
hi guys! thanks for all the replies here. I also aspire to become a UKRN hopefully this year. I have my ATT and im just really nervous to take the exam! but with all the encouraging words here, I think I'll be able to do it. The blueprint from NMC is so impossible to finish! haha! im focusing on the topics you guys have mentioned. Thanks so much! see you all in uk! haha!
anyway, is there anyone applying for King's under Omanfil? Better apply guys! they have big hospitals coming up mostly from London area! ASC is also good. They're very organized but they don't have a London-based hospital for now..
Keep the tips coming guys! Let's all help each other! to those taking the exam soon, God bless you all!!!
Can anyone tell me what agency to apply? I am just a volunteer nurse in a primary hospital and it seems like they are looking for staff nurses in secondary and tertiary hospitals.
hi Trollbella! You can try out ASC in Makati. They have a big hospital, Brighton & Sussex Univ Hospital, coming this end of March! You can also try Omanfil. :) IPAMS too.
Hi trollbella!I'm applying in two agencies now, FSHC-NI and I am going to visit IPAMS office after I take CBT on Monday. Apart from CBT, I have intreview with IPAMS as well. So, just exploring ground right now as to which one has a better offer and pathway.
How bout you? :)
Where are you working right now? I tried applying with IPAMS but the recruitment specialist told me that the employers prefer "staff nurses".

I'm not sure if I should say this in public, but I do have a suggestion and it's based on some RNs around me. I would like to help if ever, please PM me in my e-mail: [email protected] [i've posted this before tho LOL]
Yehey!!! I will be the first one to welcome you new Filipino Nurses!! welcome to UK! Anyone coming to Colchester by any chance? We could probably do "Allnurses meet-up!" Hehehe! Anyway, best of luck and God bless to all!
This would be very nice. I'm looking forward to it especially if all of us already passed CBT [& OSCE perhaps]

I have considered applying in Omanfil as well because it's one jeep away from my workplace and I've known people who are currently applying with them. However, CTN is my priority employer because of the traveling option [st. Thomas, Guy's, Royal London, etc.]. So I ended up in IPAMS, even though it's a hassle traveling from south to north T-T. XD
@lui_dana - Congratulations! I wish I could schedule mine earlier, but I don't think I'm ready. ^-^
Hi andy_rn! If I may ask, what is your timeline from the time you took your IELTS until you were given the ATT? How many months do you plan on reviewing before sitting in the CBT?
Hello sassyces! I took the IELTS last Feb 7 and got my results 13 days after, Feb 20. I applied in the NMC last march 1 and got my ATT a few hours after. I could have applied the moment I got my IELTS test report form but I wasn't sure then if there were other protocols that I needed to follow. Turns out, there were none. So once you have your ielts results, that is 13 days after you sit on your IELTS, you can already register in the NMC and probably have an ATT on that same day (given that you pass). In order to register in the nmc, you need your ielts result, test report form #, candidate # and you must answer some details about yourself. Then just wait for an email or you can check your invoice in your nmc account if you have passed the eligibility critera then your ATT will follow. you will be given 6mos, from the time you applied, to take the test. :) I plan on studying for a month. I might take the exam by mid April.

Hi freakazoa! I have some workmates who applied in IPAMS too! I thought about it (because of the travel perks) but then my bf, who is currently working in London, wants me to work within London as well. Gosh we have the opposite situation! I live one ride away from IPAMS!! When are you taking your CBT? God bless!!

I agree that we have a total opposite situation here. I originally plan to take it during the first week, but since it's Holy Week, it's a critical week in my workplace. Plus, there's no schedule on April 2-3 and weekends T-T. In the end, I decided to take it after Mid-April. XD
You're timeline was quite efficient. I waited for my final interview first before I made an account with NMC.

I'm so nervous to apply for the test. Can we schedule anytime? or are there only a number of slots available each day?
Hi andy_rn.Thanks so much for the info, you've been very, very helpful. I guess everything I need to ask until before you sit for cbt has been answered comprehensively. Thanks a lot and all the best for us, UKRN aspirants! :)
Anytime! When are you planning to take the cbt? :)
By the way, for those who used the Royal Marsden manual, which part did you/should we focus?
Andy_rn
I still am to take my IELTS exam. No schedule even as I will still commence with my review next week. Actually, I consider myself extremely lucky to be hired (under a conditional offer contract by ipams - what was yours btw?) by the british recruiter as I disclosed that not only do I lack ielts exam, I haven't even reviewed yet.

I take the CBT this afternoon (second attempt!)… The first attempt took me a little over two hours. I'm starting to get so nervous. I've read through the Royal Marsden, and scanned most of the NICE links off of the blueprint. Still not feeling overly confident because my first attempt reaaallly discouraged me. I am encouraged however people in this thread have been passing on their second attempts.
Anyone out there with final words of advice?? :)
