Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Hi cardiaccathjohn! That was indeed a long story. HahaI myself applied independently at first because i want to work near my family. But i find it inconvenient. Hehe. Also, i'd like to ask, will you pay your visa fee and ihs fee if ever?
I guess so. Thats one huge drawback with doing things your own. You gotta pay fees from your own pockets.
Hello guys, I am an individual applicant under NO Trust or agency and I will be taking the OSCE in 2 weeks time.. I AM FREAKING OUT! I haven't had clinical experience for the past 5 years and have been working as a HCA in a private nursing home here in the UK. Anyone can help me please? To give me an idea and overview on "HOW" and "WHAT" to expect during the exam.. Pretty please?? [email protected]
I ended up choosing Barts - St. Bartholomews/Barts Heart Centre knowing that Barts Heart Centre is a new Cardiac centre recently opened last 2015 and aims to be the best in offering Cardiac services in London.
I'd like to chime in if it's fine :) I was offered by King's College Hospital, Royal London and another NHS in Cambridge but I ultimately went with Barts Heart Centre too with the same reasons that you have cited. The promise of working with Barts Heart Centre, which is considered as the largest in the entire UK, is just too good to miss out on.
Royal London would be a good choice too. I have heard that Whitechapel (RL's location) is one of London's most beautiful locations and imagine working in an institution with an Air Ambulance.
My friend sent his Saudi documents from the Philippines and it went well. So, I think that would just be fine.I just thought before that sending the documents from SCFHS will just give me a bit more of a "peace-of-mind" since at times it is really hard to process the paper-works when you are not in Saudi anymore.
Hi :) I would like to ask if your friend had included the blank form, certificate of goodstanding and certificate of registration in sfchs (translated by the embassy) anf sent it to nmc or did he just sent the COGS and the blank verification form?
Hi WESTMACK,RN
I read your posts to this thread and you are very helpful. I also came from the KSA, however, I am already back here in the Philippines since March.
I am planning to do what you did with Saudi Council verification. But I would like to ask if do I still need to include the certification from the Saudi council the gray one which is written in arabic? Or I only need the COGS and the blank form?
No. I am under no agency. Actually I am directly hired.I WAS under Omanfil before and had an offer from Kings College NHS Trust but I was lined up for a Cardiac Nurse role. The interviewer told me I would be placed in a Cardiothoracic ward or something. They never mentioned which hospital under Kings NHS trust I would be assigned to. I didn't really get any clear information on my job offer. Ofil never even sent me an offer letter to sign. I just didn't like how everything was going through with Ofil so I did what I felt was right - to do things without the assistance of any agency or recruiter.
I worked my way through online sites like the NHS jobs website. Being a cath lab RN, I looked for cath lab vacancies, as it is definitely the specialty I ultimately wanted to pursue and continue. I found a few trusts within London and submitted a few applications. Few days later I got emails from different London trusts inviting me for a Skype interview. I did 4 interviews with 4 different trusts and luckily were successful. I got offers from St. George's Hospital NHS Trust, Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust, Barts Health NHS trust and some other trust at the outskirts of London. With 4 trusts offering the job, I was really confused! I ended up choosing Barts - St. Bartholomews/Barts Heart Centre knowing that Barts Heart Centre is a new Cardiac centre recently opened last 2015 and aims to be the best in offering Cardiac services in London.
Whoah that was a long story. Sorry for the too much chitchat. Hehe. This is not to brag but I am just saying that you really can work your way yourself through online applications especially at the NHS jobs website. Just a few exchange of emails and definitely you will get that invitation for interview and that job offer for a role/position you really desire.
Nevertheless, being with an agency has its benefits and drawbacks. (Sorry for the very long post)
Hi thanks for the reply. I see. So, you're already in UK? Since you're directly hired, will there be refunds for your out of pocket expenses?
I received mine 4 hours after the exam. But if your Pearson Vue account says PASS, that's probably it. You can check your NMC account too. Congrats! Can you give me tips? I failed it just this week too.
I've checked my NMC account and my CBT is still in progress. It's not updated. I don't know what's the problem with my account. With regards to the CBT, it's very helpful to read the Code and blueprint. Also, there are a lot of questions about safeguarding. I think CBT doesn't actually test you on theories but more on situational basis. I have also read the Royal Marsden Manual 😊
