Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

Nmc already received all my docs! Yey!!!

Nmc already received all my docs! Yey!!!

mine too :) just checked my portal and all my documents were all received just today.. but in my applications tab, 'More information required-feedback' is still displayed even though all my 5 forms/documents were already marked as Received, is it the same with yours?

I tried searching in bookstores before but unfortunately I didn't find any. One posted in olx last time selling her old marsden book bought directly from UK but i think it was already sold out. Do you have C&E bookstore outlets near you because I found the Marsden book in their list online before however its the student editon and upon calling they said its out of stock:(

Hi sofiebear. May I know what is the difference with the student edition and the one we're using? Coz we have at least 3 branches of C&E bookstores in my city and I'll try to visit them tomorrow to ask for the availability of the book.

Hi can you send me tips, I failed it today. :( [email protected]

Hey!!! Hope you feel better. You can always re-take and like what I have said in the past when I failed the exam too, you just have to go back to the drawing board and start all over again.

What I did was I re-read the entire Royal Marsden Book, tried answering the MEQs at the end of each chapter and familiarized what was published/written in the NMC blueprint. Ofcourse, prayer helps a lot.

God bless and Goodluck!!

Hello fissure,

Congrats on getting your CoS! Lucky you! Let me guess your under omanfil arent ya? They're the only agency with clients who assigns the CoS to candidates even without their DLs. For which trust are you? And when's your target date? If you dont mind me asking..

LOOOL I feel you. Almost 50 nurses got their DLs with Barts/ASC and yet no COS updates.

Hi periwinkle! I can only see "document receieved" in my tab. It includes the dates of receipt.

Hi nurse cardio! Yes, i think ASC really requires you to have a DL. there are advantages and disadvantages. Its up to you if you will take the risk. But i think, if you're sure that all your documents are correct, you will have no problem.

Just to update you guys, I'm done with medical exam. It's waaaaay cheaper here in the province. Like more than half cheaper. ;)

Next stop is VISA application.

Hi cardiaccathrnjohn, i sent you a message. ;-)

Good luck you guys! We can do this. This thread is really helpful.

Hi CardiacCathRNjohn,

OMG that's great! Which hospital hired you?

I am sad because I have to request my NMC account to be re-opened because of some errors. I do hope it would not take awhile

Hi. I would like to ask when can I expect to receive an email from NMC with regards to my CBT result? I took the exam last August 24 and up to now i haven't received any email. Also, I checked with pearson vue online and my status is PASS.

I received mine 4 hours after the exam. But if your Pearson Vue account says PASS, that's probably it. You can check your NMC account too. Congrats! Can you give me tips? I failed it just this week too. :(

well you should try calling them first to check the availability. When i talked to the c&e incharge over the phone she told me they would need more or less 10-30 book request(if im not mistaken) for them to reproduced the book in paperback again. With regards to the difference in the professional and student versions Im not quite sure about this but I guess there are quite a few variation with some of the chapters and contents as well as the list of procedures on both books thats shown

You can check it at the royal marsden website. :)

Hi CardiacCathRNjohn,

I just read your post while browsing the page. Are you also from Omanfil?

No. I am under no agency. Actually I am directly hired.

I WAS under Omanfil before and had an offer from Kings College NHS Trust but I was lined up for a Cardiac Nurse role. The interviewer told me I would be placed in a Cardiothoracic ward or something. They never mentioned which hospital under Kings NHS trust I would be assigned to. I didn't really get any clear information on my job offer. Ofil never even sent me an offer letter to sign. I just didn't like how everything was going through with Ofil so I did what I felt was right - to do things without the assistance of any agency or recruiter.

I worked my way through online sites like the NHS jobs website. Being a cath lab RN, I looked for cath lab vacancies, as it is definitely the specialty I ultimately wanted to pursue and continue. I found a few trusts within London and submitted a few applications. Few days later I got emails from different London trusts inviting me for a Skype interview. I did 4 interviews with 4 different trusts and luckily were successful. I got offers from St. George's Hospital NHS Trust, Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust, Barts Health NHS trust and some other trust at the outskirts of London. With 4 trusts offering the job, I was really confused! I ended up choosing Barts - St. Bartholomews/Barts Heart Centre knowing that Barts Heart Centre is a new Cardiac centre recently opened last 2015 and aims to be the best in offering Cardiac services in London.

Whoah that was a long story. Sorry for the too much chitchat. Hehe. This is not to brag but I am just saying that you really can work your way yourself through online applications especially at the NHS jobs website. Just a few exchange of emails and definitely you will get that invitation for interview and that job offer for a role/position you really desire.

Nevertheless, being with an agency has its benefits and drawbacks. (Sorry for the very long post)
